The BMW M1 in BASF design: A super-stylish eye-catcher
In 1980, one year after a brilliant start attributable to the Procar successes, the races were no longer organised exclusively depending on Formula 1 events. GS-Tuning brought BASF on board as a sponsor, who gave the BMW M1 an ultra-stylish look with white spirals on a red background. Hans Heyer finished seventh in the race car after 9 championship runs. But in terms of its design and looks, this BASF eye-catcher deserved first place on the podium. In 1980, a total of five BMW M1 cars took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Hans Heyer, who secured seventh place in the BMW Procar, was also in the race. The white spirals on a red background helped turn this production sports car into an absolute eye-catcher on the race track. Visually, the BMW no doubt earned its spot on the winner's podium
From Le Mans to your own Carrera race track
With its stylish design, the BMW M1 now also inspires fans at home on your Carrera race track. The original BMW licence along with the headlights, rear and brake lights give this car its unmistakable appearance. Your slot car can also be individually coded and is, of course, digitally controllable. You can also drive the BMW M1 Procar on an analogue track.
