The Porsche 935 was produced from 1976 to 1881. The car competed in the Brand World Championship, the German Racing Championship (DRM) and the North American IMSA GT Racing Series. Porsche won the World Brand Championship for four years in a row. In the DRM the Porsche 935 was able to assert itself against all others in two seasons and win the championship title. Porsche also won the brand title in the IMSA GT Series between 1978 and 1982. This makes the Porsche 935 one of the most successful series-authentic racing cars. In addition to the factory, some racing teams also built their own racing cars, the best known and most successful being Team Kremer Racing.
