Even though the yellow-white-black CR7 might remind you a bit of its CR6 "Bad Boys" siblings at first glance, it’s actually a new, fresh design in the 1:32 scale lineup. The paint scheme is well-inspired by real-life CR7 race designs, though I haven’t been able to find a photo of a 1:1 prototype. That doesn’t detract from the successful visual execution in the slightest. The car is easily recognizable on the track and cuts a fine figure overall in the 1:32 GT scene.
The absolutely flawless paintwork and decals look less like a toy and more like a display model. The wheels run true, with no visible or noticeable misalignment. The tires fit snugly in the wheel wells and, with their decals and matching black rims, present a great look.
The fit and grip of the tires are good. With the CR7, you should be very careful when using sandpaper due to the thin tread… in my opinion, it’s not strictly necessary.
The assembly and fit are good; the body just creaks slightly around the doors when touched. On the left side
, there’s a bit of play between the body and the base plate. The rear diffuser is part of the chassis, integrated with a section of the rear.
In the 1:32 scale model, there’s very little room for trim weights—only around the door sills and a tiny bit in the rear near the engine. The greenish-yellow lighting with the auxiliary headlights looks true to the prototype, but offers rather limited options for night driving… okay, you can see the car… And you can also see the fuel tank indicators. Weighing in at about 104 grams, the car isn’t exactly a lightweight, but it’s still fun on the track. Good responsiveness, quiet running characteristics and fairly unproblematic handling speak in favor of the CR7 .... Whether it has a chance of winning is probably up to the driver, as is almost always the case .... ;-)
