Our mission

How do we want to make sustainability tangible?

Based on legal requirements or even beyond, we have defined clear and measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that we regularly review to ensure we are moving closer to our sustainability goals. These KPIs drive us forward and allow us to track and adjust our progress.

What defines us?

Most of our products are not only durable, but also designed to be collectible, which increases their lifespan and value - many products remain in the household for a lifetime or are passed down from generation to generation.

Our strategy to achieve our ESG goals

Through our actions and creations, we strive to positively shape the future of the world. We want to actively contribute to making the world a better place for everyone.

Governance / corporate management

Company policy

Carrera Revell is proud to be a member of the German Toy Industry Association (DVSI). This commitment demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards and quality in the toy industry.

Our supplier relationships are largely based on long-term partnerships. Payment mechanisms are clearly regulated and in some cases suppliers are pre-financed. A binding Code of Conduct regulates cooperation with our suppliers and ensures that ethical and fair practices are adhered to. We implement the ESG KPIs by implementing the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) in accordance with the ESRS (European Single Reporting System) and preparing this in accordance with the taxonomy guidelines. We also work on reporting and sustainability reports.

Comprehensive compliance guidelines are implemented at our main locations and must be signed by every employee. These rules ensure that our business is conducted in accordance with legal and ethical standards. We are currently working on standardizing and implementing these compliance rules for the entire group of companies.

We offer our employees their own whistleblower address. This enables you to anonymously report concerns or grievances and thus contributes to the transparency and integrity of our corporate management.

Gender equality & inclusion

At Carrera Revell , inclusion at all levels is a matter of course for us. We are committed to ensuring that all employees have the same opportunities and rights regardless of gender, origin or other characteristics.

Our workers in the value chain and our producers are certified according to the BSCI standards. This certification ensures that social and environmental standards are adhered to, thereby promoting fair and sustainable production.

Our products are accessible to all customers without restriction. This means that everyone, regardless of their personal characteristics, can access and enjoy our products.

Supply Chain Protection Act

We comply with the Supply Chain Protection Act (LKSG) or CSDDD (Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive). We answer customer, retail and end consumer questions using various communication tools. Through the Code of Conduct, the compliance guidelines and the BSCI certifications, we ensure that our suppliers comply with the LKSG.

Customer and repair service

Carrera Revell offers its customers a comprehensive repair service to ensure that products have a long service life and that customers can enjoy them in the long term. Our aim is to provide an efficient after-sales service that meets the needs of our customers. In doing so, we continuously optimize our processes to ensure fast and reliable repair processing.

The positive effects of our repair offer are manifold. On the one hand, we enable our customers to repair their products and continue using them instead of throwing them away and buying new ones. In this way, we make an important contribution to reducing waste and conserving resources. In addition, we promote sustainable consumer behavior by focusing on the durability and repairability of our products.

Our repair offer also helps to strengthen our customers' trust in our brand, as they can rely on us to continue to support them after their purchase. Overall, our repair offer is an important part of our sustainability strategy and an example of how we can make a positive contribution to the environment through innovative solutions.

Packaging

Carrera Revell has set itself an ambitious goal to revolutionize the packaging of its products and make them more environmentally friendly.

Carrera Revell products are already available in open packaging without plastic viewing windows. The amount of plastic in the outer packaging has been significantly reduced or completely eliminated. Where possible, polybags are replaced by paper bags or reduced to a minimum. In addition, polystyrene and polyfoam are largely avoided and cardboard and paper trays made from recycled material are used instead. Packaging has been reduced in size overall and PVC is no longer used.

This change has several positive effects. Firstly, we are significantly reducing our consumption of raw materials and helping to protect the environment. By using sustainable materials, we are also reducing the environmental impact of our entire product life cycle, from production to disposal.

By reducing the size of the packaging, we are also minimizing transport and storage volumes. This has a positive impact on the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Switching to sustainable packaging materials and reducing the size of our packaging are important steps in our journey towards a more environmentally friendly and sustainable product design. Carrera Revell is committed to pursuing these goals with determination and dedication in order to make a positive contribution to the preservation of our environment.

Long-lasting products

Carrera Revell products are already characterized by their remarkable durability. Our aim is to continue to offer products that meet this high standard and exceed our customers' expectations.

The durability of our products has a positive impact on the environment as it helps to avoid waste. By using high quality materials and robust designs, our products can be used over long periods of time without losing quality or performance. This reduces the need to replace products frequently, minimizing waste that ends up in landfills or needs to be recycled.

Our commitment to longevity is a key part of our sustainability strategy and a demonstration of our dedication to providing products that not only meet the needs of our customers, but also make a positive contribution to the preservation of our environment.

Climate change

Adaptation to climate change

Adapting to the challenges of climate change is crucial for companies as it has far-reaching impacts on a wide range of business areas. On the one hand, consumer behavior is changing towards a greater focus on sustainable products. Consumers are increasingly preferring environmentally friendly and socially responsible offerings. Companies that recognize and implement these trends early on have a clear advantage.

At the same time, climate change is leading to significant fluctuations in raw material prices and services. Climate-related events such as droughts, storms or floods can affect production and significantly increase the cost of raw materials. Transport is also repeatedly disrupted by environmental disasters, which can lead to delivery bottlenecks and higher transport costs.

Overall, it is essential for companies like ours to proactively adapt to the challenges of climate change - which is why we want to work with various measures in the future.

Climate protection

In order to actively engage in climate protection and adapt to climate change, we will make a number of changes in the future. Our products, which have so far largely been made of plastic and are produced in the Far East, will increasingly be made from alternative, sustainable raw materials. In doing so, we reduce the use of petroleum-based materials and reduce our dependence on non-renewable resources.

We will also break new ground when it comes to transport. Although the preferred transport route to Europe by ship remains, we will increasingly rely on lower-emission means and methods of transport in order to minimize the ecological footprint. This could include the use of more energy efficient ships or alternative energy. At the same time, we are developing alternative marketing and distribution concepts to optimize supply chains and reduce the associated emissions.

We produce at different locations. In addition to China, we also deliberately have production sites in Europe and the USA near our shipping warehouses in order to reduce transport and the associated CO2 emissions.

Another focus is on resource conservation. We will take measures to reduce energy and water consumption and use existing raw materials more efficiently. This includes optimizing production processes as well as promoting recycling and the circular economy.

To assess and manage our efforts, we create comprehensive Carbon Footprints (CCF) for all locations, including relevant Scope 3 emissions. This enables us to identify and implement targeted measures to reduce emissions. Through these holistic adjustments and the focus on sustainable practices, we make an active contribution to climate protection and at the same time ensure the future viability of our company.

energy

Although the Carrere Revell Group companies do not operate any manufacturing units themselves, we are aware that our suppliers have energy-intensive production processes. We are therefore intensively addressing the issue of energy consumption and are currently examining the switch to green electricity and alternative energies in our supply chain. Through these measures we want to make our contribution to reducing the CO₂ footprint and improve the sustainability of our entire value chain. The use of renewable energies and the promotion of energy-efficient technologies are the focus of our efforts to minimize the ecological impact and promote more environmentally friendly production methods in the long term.
