Test report by CoMod Mike... on Carrera the Carrera Evo KTM X-Bow
(27288)
When Chris writes in his report on the white 911 that "white" is making a comeback, my motto is: "Black is beautiful!" Some might argue that you can't really see a black car on a black road... yeah, sure... so what ;-)
I see it exactly the same way, even though my tests took place on a gray wooden track surface. Black vehicles do require a certain amount of concentration at the controller, but personally, I don’t see the X-Bow as a race series car either! For me, the open-top fun racer is exactly what it is in real life... namely aGo go-kart-like fun machine!... And this thing is a blast... including the
black paint scheme released in 2009
!
The combination of high-gloss painted trim pieces contrasting with the matte body panels has a charm all its own, one that really comes into its own when viewed up close. Not a vehicle to be admired from afar... And so you often find yourself kneeling down to eye level, letting the "Black X-Bow" glide past... "Glide" might be a bit of a misnomer; it reminds me a little of my beloved Batman "Thumbler" in the Batboy version...
But all in all, a real-futuristic testament to our times from the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM, which, as far as I’m concerned, could happily race one size up on the drag strip (though that’s not to say it should replace a production race bike in the lineup ;-) !!!)
