CoMod Carrera 124's review of the Carrera DIGITAL 124 Ferrari B99XX, Ferrari Racing Days "No.88" ( Art.Nr
. 23772)
" A modern Ferrari in white? Very unusual—you don't see something like this very often, either on the streets or on the racetrack. The red longitudinal stripes break up the design a bit, but the new color scheme still immediately catches the eye—especially when you compare it to its red and dark blue counterparts.
Even though I’m not a huge fan of the Ferrari 599 XX, I like the design—even much better than that ofDigital 132 the car (Item No. 30608).
Technically, nothing has changed compared to the other two design variants. Unfortunately, this still means that the Ferrari is a bit on the heavy side. On the other hand, this gives it a solid, stable feel on the track. To throw it off the curve, you’d have to act with deliberate intent.
This is even more true when driving with the standard magnet setup. The handling becomes more balanced when you remove the rear magnet: the operating envelope widens, and driving errors can be corrected more easily.
My personal preference for1:24 scale cars is to do without the chassis magnets entirely. Even without them, tire grip is still sufficient; however, the Ferrari doesn’t match the performance of a Porsche 911 GT3.
So the best way to drive the 599 is in a one-make series—much like how Ferrari handles it with the real cars.
Have fun!
