Review by CoMod Carrera 124 of the Carrera DIGITAL 132 /Evolution Alfa Romeo GTA Silhouette Race 3 (Item No. 30651/27431)
The Alfa Romeo GTA Silhouette is now available in its third design variant. Consequently, this version is called “Race” 3", and is painted in the Italian national colors of green, white, and red. The large “OKP” lettering catches the eye; OKP is a major specialty supplier offering replacement parts for classic Alfa Romeos and other Italian classics. Thematically, this makes perfect sense, but visually, I still find the lettering to be out of place.
The gaps on the separate front section of the body seem slightly narrower than on the 2012 test vehicles, and the rims are still very well done.
The test drive held no surprises. As is my custom, the vehicle was started without the rear magnet; the center magnet remained in the vehicle. This results in good acceleration and a moderately wide limit range that forgives the occasional driving mistake. However, if you push it too hard in a turn, you’ll still end up spinning out or even veering off the road.
Bottom line: even though the design of this version isn’t quite to my taste, the little Alfa is still an exceptional addition to the lineup.
