Carrera DIGITAL 132 Audi R18

e-tron Quattro No. 1, 2012
Here are the photos and test report for the new Carrera DIGITAL 132 Audi R18 e-tron quattro No. 1, 2012 (Item No. 30637) by CoMod Mike & Jörg.

The R18 e-tron quattro is a model variant of the R18 ultra with Hybridan electric powertrain, based on the R18 ultra and delivering approximately 470 kW . At the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans, Audi achieved a one-two-three finish, with the first two places going to the two Audi R18 e-tron quattro cars that competed. This marked the first time a Hybrid vehicle had won this race, and it repeated this success the following year as well. If it weren’t for 2009, when a Peugeot 98 HDi had claimed the top spot on the podium… well, since 2000, the Volkswagen family has racked up 12 overall victories… and once, the Audi was actually a Bentley ;-)

Appearance:
The printing and paintwork are flawlessly executed. The decals and prints
are clean and sharply defined. The black rear section is a bit too shiny for my taste. The silver, which can sometimes be problematic, looks very realistic this time and not toy-like.

The design is very detailed; all the sponsor decals, etc., are accurately reproduced
. The roof antennas are a bit sturdier than the original, but making them thinner would increase the risk of breakage.

Technology:
The vehicle mainly features the familiar components that are now completely
trouble-free (tires with good grip, straight axles, etc.), but there is something new after all.
The front and rear lights are SMD LEDs in a flat, square
design. The light is significantly brighter, and the brake lights are really clearly visible…
top-notch for modern vehicles.

Thanks to the small motor, the chassis still offers enough space for a little lead … or something a bit less harmful to your health ;-)

Performance:
Wide, low, long = good. That sums up the R18. Thanks to
the high-revving motor and the high-grip tires, it drives quite smoothly.
A very successful continuation of the Le Mans series… even if it does take a few steps CarreraEvolutionto set up the cars of the different “-s” levels to race against each other.

Best regards,
