Item No. 23798
The third highly interesting color variant of the Ferrari 512S Berlinetta.
It depicts the car of the Gelo Racing Team that was scheduled to compete in the 1970 "1000 Kilometers of Brands Hatch"—though things didn’t quite go as planned. The drivers were team owner Georg Loos (D) and Jonathan Williams from Great Britain. Due to a lack of available tires at the start, the car remained in the pits and did not participate in the race.
Porsche 917Ks finished in the top three positions—yet another race in which this car dominated the 5-liter class of that era. The first Ferrari 512S finished in 8th place. On the 1:24 scale model,
The distinct color variations of the 512S Berlinetta with this body style are thus pretty much exhausted—apart from varying starting numbers. I was only able to find one car from Scuderia Filipinetti with slightly different livery—but all of them feature a dominant red base color.
