— well, almost. Kaspersky, the well-known security software manufacturer, is the main sponsor of this Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 from the AF Corse racing team based in Piacenza.
The Blancpain Endurance Series is a motorsports racing series for GT3-class Gran Turismo vehicles, with the season’s highlight being the 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps. Otherwise, this series features endurance races lasting 3 and 6 hours.
The series’ main and title sponsor is the Swiss watchmaker Blancpain.
There isn’t really much more to say about the model car (see also my review).
The design is superbly chosen; it transforms the Ferrari’s otherwise rather bulky and aggressive front end into what is almost a “friendly face,” and its color scheme makes it highly visible on the track and easy to distinguish from other cars.
The driver figure is very well crafted and is a perfect match for the car. I already mentioned the excellent imitation engine in my last review, but I always enjoy seeing details like that.
There’s nothing to complain about regarding the car’s technical construction—it’s ready to hit the track right away. Well, depending on the situation, you might just need to remove the magnets, but otherwise, it’s all set for racing.
If you take a closer look at the paint job, it’s almost a shame to subject it to the harsh conditions of racing—but even if it looks that way, this isn’t a display model, and scuffs and paint chips are practically a must on a real race car.
