Black Beauty …

if that makes you think of a black horse, you’re not far off.
However, this isn’t about that cheesy TV series from the ’70s, but rather the latest version of a 1:32-scale classic from Carrera .

The latest Ford Mustang GT has been redesigned to match the 1967 model year. The side air intakes, the grille, the Mustang emblem, the rear section, the lighting, and other details have been modified accordingly—it’s a “new model.”

The glossy black paint, the two bright red longitudinal stripes, and the white race numbers give the car a contemporary look; they make it look great on the track and ensure it’s easily recognizable.
The driver’s seat and sponsor decals are designed to match the 1960s style. The headlight seems a bit glaring (for a car from the ’60s) and shines downward from the body toward the front tires. The taillights and brake lights are great and will certainly be clearly visible even on larger tracks.

The basic design—with a fairly tight keel rotation angle, a fairly heavy weight, and the wedge-shaped underbody construction (which, depending on the viewing angle, does detract slightly from the car’s otherwise great looks)—remains virtually unchanged, turning the car into a diva when driven at race speeds… …fun to drive, but definitely tricky.

See you later,
