In the 2018–19 season, the FIA World Endurance Championship spanned two calendar years for the first time, which is why this season was also referred to as the "Super Season." The Porsche 911 RSR with start number #91 was driven by Richard Lietz, Gianmaria Bruni, and Frederic Makowiecki. The first two finished third overall in the GTE driver standings, thereby helping Porsche celebrate the GTE manufacturers’ championship.
Compared to the #93 model, the only major change was the color of a decorative stripe, which switched from red to gold. This relatively minor change has a significant impact on the car’s visual appearance.
As is almost always the case with design variants, the technical specifications remain unchanged. Due to the car’s enormous width, a proactive driving style is essential, particularly in direct one-on-one battles. The weight is noticeable in the ride quality, but the model still impresses with its good handling characteristics.
