Well, if you want to play “cops and robbers”—or stage a bank heist—on the racetrack, you’ll naturally need a suitable police car to go with it. After
However, the STATE TROOPER differs fundamentally from the Chevy of that era in terms of its color scheme: While the Camaro from that era still had the classic American police car look in black and white—as is actually used in the U.S.—the V8 is a so-called “STATE TROOPER” in the typical blue color scheme. The “state police” are therefore not a county police force but are responsible for the entire state. Their duties include, among other things, traffic enforcement. In some states, they are also referred to as the Highway Patrol, a term under which they are actually better known.
CARRERA’s designer has given the car a pretty skyline with mountains on either side; when you look at the logo and the coat of arms inside the star, it immediately becomes clear what’s meant: Salzburg! Admittedly, this doesn’t quite fit the “supranational deployment” category, but let’s give the designer some artistic license.
Visually, there’s nothing to fault about the vehicle. It looks really good, and the light on the roof shines beautifully. The handling is just like all the other Amys in this series: it’s no lightweight. But thanks to its slightly higher weight, it’s also a very easy-to-drive vehicle. Thanks to its wide track, it handles corners very well. There are more spirited cars out there, but they don’t handle as well as this Chevy. This is a racetrack car particularly well-suited for children and beginners, and it’s very easy to control even without the two magnets. And it's always enough to catch that armored truck I mentioned at the beginning!
