Checksum 7? Yes, exactly. I have here in front of me the two McLaren Formula 1 cars from the 2011 season: Jenson Button’s No. 3 car and Lewis Hamilton’s No. 4 car.
The two Brits finished the 2001 season with Jenson in 2nd place and Lewis in 5th. Seven again. As far as I’m concerned, the series can keep going this way as long as Sebastian Vettel stays in 1st place. As far as I’m concerned, McLaren can even take second place in the Constructors’ Championship again (as they did in 2010 and 2011), but as I said: the main thing is that Vettel becomes world champion again!
But joking aside, let’s talk about the two race cars.
Let me get one thing out of the way right off the bat: I can actually just copy and paste the test drive report from last year, since the body of the 2011 Race CarCarrera is
based on the 2010 model
. Unfortunately, a custom body wasn’t possible this time—maybe next year.
If you lookz.B. at . pictures of the vehicle presentation at Potsdamer Platz ( rp-online.de ) and compare them with the model, the first thing you notice is the MP4-26’s high nose, which theCarrera
model doesn’t have yet. Next is the much sleeker shape of the entire body.
The silver-and-neon-red paint scheme is already familiar from the MP4-26’s predecessors; not much has changed on the 2011 model.
As mentioned, the handling is the same as on the previous year’s model: a car with excellent track stability, a reasonable limit, and strong acceleration.
