. ...Here it is at last, the Porsche GT3 RSR “Manthey Racing, 2011 Nürburgring 24 Hours”!

The 1:32 version has been on the market for quite some time, so many VLN fans have
been Carrera eagerly awaiting the Manthey Porsche in the exclusive 1:24 scale. This particular model competed in the 2011 24-hour race. The previous year hadn’t gone quite as well for the Manthey team, which is used to winning… hence the No. 18,
but in 2011, after 24 grueling hours of racing, they secured another victory. … Just as a
side note, third place went to the Carrera Audi R8 LMS—also released by Manthey—
in its yellow-and-blue Bilstein livery.

The handling is, of course , well-known… I particularly like the Porsche 911 when the tires are nicely worn and the edges are rounded off. The Porsche also runs really well on Orthmann tires, if that's what you want. Personally, I prefer more drifting and stick with these Carrera tires. I actually always drive the 1:24 scale cars without magnets; because of the fairly high overall weight, using trim weights is rarely necessary. Just take it out of the box, break in the tires, remove the magnets… ready for fun.

Now for the looks:
The paint job is top-notch; I haven’t seen the car in person, but the colors and decals are very accurately rendered compared to the original photos. The driver’s seat, interior, and trim parts are flawless—as Carrera has actually become standard these days . The front tires keep spinning for a long time and run smoothly; the hrung.Hinterund front axle is well-centered and has very little play—just right.
If I were a model builder, I’d give the car a subtle “dirt look,”
just like it would look after a long-distance race ;-)

…. Oh yeah… next, I’d love to see the Haribo Porsche ;-)
