One of the most exciting aspects of creating a club report is always the research beforehand. You either focus on the car, or, of course, try to find out something about the racing team. Or both.
Much has already been written about the Ferrari 458 GT 2, and the Carrera car doesn't really need much commenting either. The 458 is one of the most beautiful in the current range (and that's coming from someone who doesn't really care much for modern Ferraris).
The handling of the car from Maranello is excellent, only the slightly excessive weight sometimes spoils the driving pleasure.
What was more exciting about this report was the research into the team.
AT Racing?
Behind the team is a Belarusian driver duo, father and son, who live in Mödling, Austria. The racing team is based in Vienna. Alexander Talkanitsa Senior founded the racing team in 2008. Before that, he drove for the Italian team AF Corse (which also has several Carrera models), for which he still occasionally drives today. AF CORSE is a partner of AT RACING. In 2008, AT was still racing with the Corvette C5R, but now they only drive Ferraris. Since 2010, the driver team has been strengthened by their son, Alexander Junior, who also drives for AF CORSE. And he's been quite successful, as evidenced by, among other things, his win at the 12 Hours of Mugello in 2014.
