Carrera DIGITAL 124 Ferrari 512 S Berlinetta 'Scuderia Filipinetti'

Item No.: 23856

After four years, the fourth model of the Ferrari 512S Berlinetta is finally here: the only rival in Carrera the lineup to the Porsche 917 K.
Unfortunately
, there isn’t much to say about the design. It’s red. Like almost every one of the 25 512s produced.
This Ferrari represents the version delivered in 1970 to the Swiss racing team Scuderia Filippinetti. The racing team was founded in the 1960s by Georges Filippinetti, who was the general importer of Ferrari in Switzerland at the time. The team was very well known in the 1960s for its successes. Wikipedia notes that it was the first racing team financed entirely through sponsorship. Its most famous drivers included Jo Siffert, Phil Hill, and Jim Clark.
After the death of its founder in 1973, the racing team was disbanded.
This car, bearing start number 3, competed in the 1970 1000 km of Brands Hatch. It was driven by Herbert Müller from Switzerland and Mike Parkes from England, who finished 13th in this car.
Weighing 200 grams, the Ferrari is exactly on par with its rival, the Porsche 917K. Although the tires have a tread pattern, they provide sufficient grip. The wide rear and low profile ensure fast and safe driving; you’d have to go out of your way to throw the car off the track. The transmission runs very smoothly and responds instantly to the throttle. For those who like to tinker: there’s plenty of room for tuning in the chassis. The paint job is flawless, and the decals are clean and error-free.
