mmReal-life car and design selection:
It came as a huge shock when Mercedes announced it would be withdrawing from the DTM at the end of the 2018 season. This marks the end of an era that lasted no less than 30 years. And even though the real DTM cars share only the exterior design with their production counterparts, they continue to enjoy steady popularity among racing fans and slot car racers. Reason enough for
Model:
The chassis is built exclusively with well-known and proven components. Compared to previous 1:32-scale DTM models, however, there is one innovation: the side pods are finally no longer attached separately to the chassis but are mounted conventionally to the body. Tuners and hobbyists will be pleased, as this makes modifications noticeably easier.
In terms of both design and paintwork and decals, nothing is left to be desired—even the painted rims have been carefully detailed.
Test Drive:
In terms of handling, there are hardly any differences from previous 1:32-scale DTM models. The cars handle firmly and smoothly on the track without being slow, and fans of magnetless operation will also find this to be an excellent starting point. So nothing stands in the way of continuing the DTM’s success story at this scale.
