The Model:
Very few people likely had the McLaren 720S GT3 on their radar as a potential addition to the GT3 series. Two design variants are available at launch: one in the classic orange McLaren livery, and one as the “Compass Racing” team’s race car.
The chassis follows the familiar design principles. The E200 engine is mounted in-line, the front axle is solid, and the total weight, at 103 grams, just barely stays within the limits.
Overall, the model is true to the prototype in being wide and relatively low-slung, which allows it to fit seamlessly into the existing lineup of vehicle types in terms of performance and thus enriches the GT3 starting grid. Without the rear magnet, you gain a slightly wider operating range; overall, the McLaren is easy to control at all times and is free of any unpleasant surprises.
