Art.Nr. 23935
And once again there is a BMW flat racer in 1:24 scale, the M1 Procar ZOL AUTO, item no. 23935.
The car with the number 72 started on June 14, 1981 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The drivers were the Frenchmen Servanin, Ferrier and Rousselot, competing for the French ZOL AUTO racing team. Unfortunately, the boys did not make it to the finish in the most grueling and material-wearing race in automotive motorsport and retired after 210 laps with technical defects, about 60% of the time to be driven.
ZOL is the local BMW dealer in the small French municipality of Boulogne-Billancourt, south-west of Paris. Well, the town has around 120,000 inhabitants, so let's assume that the BMW dealer could afford the sponsorship. By the way, the dealer still exists today:

And what is behind the sponsor VSD? That wasn't so easy for a Teuton to find out. Let me quote Wikipedia: VSD magazine is a French tabloid magazine published by Prisma Media and based in Paris. VSD stands for Vendredi, Samedi, Dimanche (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
The magazine was founded in 1977 by Maurice Siegel. The topics are gossip from the celebrity world, police reports and current affairs. in 2016, the circulation was around 100,000 copies per issue. https://vsd.fr/
Incidentally, a second BMW M1 drove the 24h with VSD advertising (with a similar look at the start), driven by Mr. Darniche, Mr. Cecotto and Mr. Alliot. However, they drove for the BMW Italie/France team. And crossed the finish line... ????
