Another truck
We don't normally write test reports about limited editions. In the case of this vehicle, however, we are making an exception. Reason: the car with item number 30822 is a shape novelty, brand new on the market, thus the first vehicle of its kind that Carrera has ever included in the range.
We are talking about the tanker in 132 scale. I have already discussed the tow truck recently. The driver's cab is the same as on the wrecker, the vehicle's appearance corresponds to the tow truck in terms of the red color scheme and the styling of the body and superstructure. The tank body slopes down at the rear and gives the oil truck a streamlined appearance; Raymond Loewy would have been proud of Slottus. ? The pin-up girl at the rear of the body is a nice little detail. In terms of technology, it doesn't have quite as much to offer as the Wrecker: there is no light bar, but a sound module is also integrated in this vehicle (which incidentally makes different noises to the tow truck). The vehicle weighs 150 grams, which is 2 grams less than its older brother. In a direct comparison, it should therefore be able to keep up.
The two new shapes are not everyone's cup of tea, at least if you read through the opinions and discussions in the club or on Freeslotter. I can definitely recommend the Tanker to those who like the car. The cars are an enrichment for the track.
Black Bull seems to be an extremely popular name for racing teams ... even in a Ranking list for races with tuned mopeds there was a Black Bull Racing ... so much for the Topic: do some quick research on the Internet ;-) The model Ferrari of the Black Bull Swiss Racing Team, not a sponsor but a team name, maintains a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Black-Bull- Racing-149436688439972/ with lots of photos, video clips and comments. Definitely worth a look and informative
The design of the Ferrari 488 GT3 from Black Bull Swiss Racing is very well chosen. The silver and black basic elements are emphasized by the orange line on the side and the white bull emblems on the hood and the side panels, resulting in a very coherent racing car design for me.
This model was u.a. successfully fielded in the Italian GT Championship. Black Bull was able to finish victorious in Monza, Imola, Valelunga and Mugello in the Super GT3 Pro class with driver Stefano GAI, who finished 3rd in the 2017 drivers' championship. The model itself is flawlessly finished. Nothing jams, grinds or sits crooked ... as has always been the case in recent times. The Ferrari is definitely competitive, a potential winner ... depending on the driver at the wheel ;-)
Until then joergW
P.S. A word about the slight confusion surrounding GT3 and GTE. GTE is the continuation of the GT2- Classification. The designation is used by the French automobile club ACO and therefore also appears in the 24-hour race at Le Mans. The FIA does not currently GT2 races. The Ferrari 488 GT and 458 GT are used partly with modifications, partly without Homologation with exemptions in the GT2 (GTE) and GT3 series, depending depending on the racing series and organizer ... I think for the race track in the hobby room we simply enjoy detailed, beautiful vehicles that enrich the GT field.

Lamborghini Huracán GT3, at least in this year's Italian GT racing series in the the Super GT3 Pro. In addition to the Lambos, this series and classification class also includes various Ferrari 488 GT3 and an Audi R8 LMS
Although this model was not actually driven in this design, the use of the italian national colors perfectly matches the vehicle. The lines and the Division of the colors underline the basic shapes of the vehicle in a suitable manner. I can find no fault with the paintwork, production and assembly.
The vehicle's performance should make it particularly suitable for longer races be. A certain liveliness is combined with smooth running and stability ... I enjoy driving like this.

Whelen Motorsports has been active in motorsport for more than 25 years and has made its name in the NASCAR sector in particular. Even if the color scheme might make you think of an Italian, the American is clearly visible in the shape. The prototype of the new 1:32 model raced in the ADAC GT Masters Championship. We have already been able to drive the Corvette C7 (GT3) R in other versions as a slot car from Carrera , the driving performance (definitely possible at the top end of the field) is well known and this model is a clear enrichment of the existing GT field.
Paintwork, decals and production are without any recognizable defects. See also test report D124 C7R So, get to work and drive onto the podium of the domestic 132 GT series ;-)

A never-ending story...
Infinite? Well, not quite. But I can't actually remember a vehicle in recent years that has taken so long to actually come onto the market. Announced for early 2017, it has now taken almost a year for the tow truck to actually come onto the market. As Slottus once wrote in the corresponding thread about the car: "The whole project is once again a prime example of Murphy's Law". Technical problems with the LGA etc. delayed the project for quite a long time.
But the result makes up for everything: I know it sounds strange, but the little truck makes a "sympathetic" impression. If you look at the cab of the tow truck, the "face" immediately looks familiar. Somehow the car reminds you of a mixture of Mercedes 319 and classic American cab-over wreckers from the 1950s. Given the designer's well-known fondness for American vehicles, this was probably the idea behind the project. The paintwork is classic CARRERA red, the rear section is completely chrome-plated except for the red crane boom. There is even a Jerrycan on the loading area (German canister, not American!). Of course, all options are open for further designs. The rims are from the '67 Mustang, with dual tires on both rear axles. The glazing of the driver's cab is smoked black due to the electronics installed inside. There are yellow flashing lights on the roof, as befits a tow truck. And it makes noises too: the sound of the vehicle can be played by pressing the soft button on the hand controller both when stationary and when driving. For towing operation: There is a bracket at the rear of the flatbed that holds the guide keel for the front wheels of the towed car when it is folded down. All without springs or servos. When unfolded, you can of course also drive without the towed car. For Formula 1 cars with a long nose, a second bracket is also included, which is clipped onto the existing bracket, see the operating instructions in the box. The real surprise of the truck, however, is what none of us CoMods actually expected. The truck is really fast. It drifts well and is faster than some racing cars when it comes to pulling away and speed (and if you're thinking of Fly's old racing trucks and their handling: you don't compare racing boats with battle cruisers). A small detail: the truck fits into a regular box. Just barely, but it fits in. The box comes with a cardboard slipcase, as we already know it from the Ferrari, only in gray. So, enough writing. Buy the car and try it out on your own track. You won't regret it!

In the last club report on the Porsche 911 Cabriolet, I typed that the car would next be added to the range in black. You could be wrong: the paint finish of the latest Porsche in the 2017 range is metallic blue. This blue can also be found on the original vehicle, so this is correct and does not offend the purist's eye. The racing stripes, on the other hand, are due to the designer's artistic freedom. Personally, I like racing stripes on production cars, even if enough people find them puerile, if not embarrassing. This is probably due to my age (47), the 80s were the age of racing stripes, spoilers, stickers and other tuning excesses... They look good on the 911, or rather on the body. At the time, I also wrote: "I personally would like to have a female driver for the car". Unfortunately, that wish never came true. We have another male driver, in a white shirt with a red polo. In reality, he probably looks like 70% of the owners. ? All in all, the car is well done, the sporty paintwork makes it stand out pleasantly from the other Porsche convertibles, which are only painted in one color. The handling of the car is famously good, as the old 911 GT3 RSR is still one of the best cars on a small professional scale despite its age.

After the Würth version, the second design variant of the "Liqui Moly Equipe", colloquially also often referred to as "Nigrin-Capri", is now being delivered. The original model was driven by Manfred Winkelhock in the 1981 season of the German Racing Championship (DRM). There was normally a large "Nigrin" lettering on the front spoiler of the vehicle; two competitors have already produced corresponding slot models in this form. For the race at the Norisring, however, the design was modified - the classic Carreralogo is clearly visible on the front spoiler, the roof and the rear side panels. Fürth and Nuremberg were still Carrera-land at the time, and so the company management at the time decided on this unique sponsorship at the "home race". A pleasant side effect: large-format images of the original vehicle were also used in the 1981/82 main catalog for advertising purposes. 35 years later, the circle has come full circle. Technically, of course, the model corresponds to the first version, but this time the tires have noticeably more grip. While the Würth version with partial magnetization was still a real rear-wheel spin, the present model with the same setup is now much more pleasant and better to drive.

a second 1:24 scale version of the Ford GT Race Car is now available with a successful Color combination of white and signal red. The design, which is a variant that has no real-life role model, emphasizes the Lines of the vehicle and can also be imagined on a real race track. I have already commented on the real vehicle in the 1:32 report and don't want to bore you with the repetition here
not bore you with the repetition. The tire/wheel arch ratio on the 1:24 model is really good, it should be similar on all Models ... just like the prototypes. On this model, parts of the bodywork, for example the side skirts, are pleasantly emphasized by the colouring. The vehicle shows no defects in the paintwork or decals. The Selection and the number of decals are pleasingly restrained and only undercut the impression that the vehicle and paintwork give. The proportions to the prototype vehicle are obviously well preserved. Even if the rather heavy model vehicle is slightly handicapped by its weight, it Fun on the track. In my opinion, it is definitely competitive for long-distance races.

Art. No.: 20030816
Technical data: Weight (complete vehicle with magnets): 104 grams Weight (body): 35 grams Length incl. spoiler: 160 mm Wheelbase: 79 mm Track width (front axle): 56 mm Track width (rear axle): 60.5 mm Other: Independent front suspension
Das Fahrzeug: Actually, everything has already been written about this. This model has been a permanent fixture in the Carrera range since the end of the 1970s. Whether 132 Universal, 160 track-bound or one of the three servo systems: the Ford Capri Zakspeed Turbo was always there, but at that time mainly in the stylized Mampe design and also as a red fantasy version with the Servo 140 and Servo 160. The competitors have also launched the model in various versions since 2002 and 2012. However, these are not always easy to digitize, so in my opinion this novelty from Carrera makes perfect sense. The popularity of this Group 5 icon is unbroken, with the "Würth" variant being launched first.
The model (chassis): All the familiar elements were used in the design of the chassis. The E200 engine sits as usual as an inliner in front of the rear axle. Unfortunately, the front axle could not be designed as a full-length unit, but is realized as an independent suspension. The lighting is provided by SMD LEDs.
The model (body): I was initially unsure about this. The front edge of the front spoiler is dead straight, and the front wheels sit relatively far forward in the wheel arches. In these two points, the Carreramodel clearly differs from the slot models of the other two manufacturers. However, when comparing the model photos, you can see that the front wheels really are positioned so far forward, and that the front spoiler actually runs as straight as a snow shovel, so our designer did everything right.
Fahrtest: There is not much to say about the driving behavior with full magnet equipment, the model circles the course as if stapled to the ideal line. If you remove the rear magnet, on the other hand, the Capri quickly mutates into a rear-end skid, something I have rarely observed with other vehicles with this magnet configuration. Maybe it's the tires, but I'll definitely wait until the second design variant is released for a final verdict. Apart from this rear-heaviness, the ride is smooth and only moderately noisy.
Petronas ... is a state-owned oil company in Malaysia and is one of the 500 largest companies in the world. Petronas has been a sponsor in motor racing since 1995. Large-format sponsor lettering, first on Sauber F1 cars, then on BMW/Sauber cars and now on Mercedes vehicles always put the sponsor in the limelight. On this 1:24 model, the company logo is also large and centrally positioned on the hood.
Optik: The Mercedes in the corporate colors of Petronas is of course very recognizable on the track recognizable on the track, but as a model it looks rather old-fashioned. The beefy and aggressive shape of the Mercedes is somewhat lost in this variant in my opinion. I still like many details on the model, such as brakes, rims and the vehicle interior round off the overall impression.
Technik: Actually all familiar components. The front light is bright enough, and also suitable for night racing suitable. The rear lights are bright, the brake lights are clearly recognizable and could prevent the odd Rear-end collision on the track. The tires have sufficient grip, but are quite thin, so sanding is only possible with caution.
Verarbeitung: The paintwork and clearcoat are clean. All other Components such as decals and the technical components are flawless and cleanly assembled. Wheels and axles turn easily and run smoothly. The vehicle does not cause any problems and can directly onto the track.
Fahrverhalten: The vehicle is already a heavyweight and must be driven accordingly i find the handling with and without the magnet to be quite balanced and pleasant, although it is not one of my favorite 1:24 scale GT vehicles.
Das Fahrzeug: There is also a new design variant of the Digital 132 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in its 11th year of production. I won't say anything more about the discrepancies between the now-ancient model shape and the real vehicle; it's a well-known topic. Everyone has to decide for themselves how disturbing the discrepancies are and how much this influences the purchase decision. I like the design very much despite the outdated body shape, it looks coherent and attractive.
Fahrtest: At this point, I really can't write anything new - the model drives just as the previously released color variants have done for almost 10 years. In terms of driving performance, the model is of course somewhat handicapped due to the old G1 chassis. However, fans of this model will probably not be bothered by this.
Technical data: Weight (complete vehicle with magnets): 97 grams Weight (body): 26 grams Length incl. spoiler: 144 mm Wheelbase: 80 mm Track width (front axle): 60 mm Track width (rear axle): 59 mm
Das Fahrzeug: At Carrera you have a luxury problem, namely the BMW M1 in two scales. How do you sensibly distribute the 100 or so possible original designs between 1:32 and 1:24? Squaring the circle seems almost trivial in comparison. In addition to the successful shape of the model, the "Boss" design is a real feast for the eyes. Quite a few people - myself included - will also want this look for the large scale.
The model (chassis): Without exception, well-known and proven technology is used here. Fortunately, the front axle is continuous, and the lighting also works with only minimal stray light.
The model (body): Some compromises always have to be made in 1:32 scale, but the model is just as impressive as its big brother from every perspective. Only time will tell whether the rear slats are just as prone to breakage as on the old Universal 132 model.
Fahrtest: There is nothing to say about the driving behavior with full magnetic equipment, without limit range it goes around the course at top speed. However, the little M1 becomes a real racer when the rear magnet is removed. Still fast, but always neutral and easy to control through the bends. The limit range is wide and announces itself in good time. A negative aspect, however, is the rather loud and booming driving noise.

Das Fahrzeug: timo Scheider competed in the DTM for 17 seasons from 2000 to 2016, all of them in Audi cars. he even won the championship title in 2008 and 2009. This makes him one of the more prominent victims of the cost-cutting measures for the 2017 season, namely the reduction to a total of 6 cars per manufacturer. The Carrera model allows us to relive his farewell season on a small scale. Visually, the Digital 132 model is rather inconspicuous - lots of matt black, plus a few shades of gray and white spots. However, there is hardly any danger of confusion with the previously released models, so the choice of prototype is once again sensible and easy to understand.
Fahrtest: At 105 grams, the model is no lightweight, as is usual with Carrera . However, the road holding and handling are convincing - there are no hectic rear swerves and no surprising departures. The car is easy to control at all times and still sufficiently nippy.

are once again 2 novelties from the D1:32 program. The two new Audi R8 LMS models in green and blue are visually impressive and are clearly visible/distinguishable on the track. The "blue Audi" features large FELBERMAYER lettering on the side .... Tells us something ... yes, the expensive, light blue Porsche 911 from the first 124 Porsche 911 series, but who or what is Felbermayer and what does the imprint/model designation "Car Collection" refer to .... Only for Carrera-hardcore collectors?
The Austrians Horst senior and Horst junior Felbermayer are active in international racing both as sponsors (Felbermayer Holding international construction/transport company) and as active drivers or were active in racing.
The car dealer Peter Schmidt initially had the company "Schmidt Automobile", which was later restructured as "CC Car Collection Autohandels GmbH". This resulted in the racing commitment in the VLN Endurance Championship, BlacPain Endurances and International 24h Series racing series. "CarCollection" competes in races itself, but also offers support and service for customer teams ... a Felbermayer GT3 Audi R8 LMS can be purchased here for just under 375,000 euros.
Yaco-Racing has now been in existence for 16 years and has entered cars in more than 400 races. uwe Geipel, former GDR rally champion and Wartburg works driver, founded the YACO family racing team in 2001. Successful members of the YACO-Racing team include his sons Philip and Charlie and, in recent years, well-known names such as Markus Winkelhock and Christian Mamerow. Philip Geipel and former DTM driver Rahel Frey drive the current Audi R8 in the GT3 series.
The vehicle models have perfect printing and fit. The somewhat high weight is noticeable in the driving performance, but the vehicles are easy and safe to drive. There is relatively little space in the chassis for trim weights. The axles turn easily, but a drop of oil can still do no harm. All in all, another 2 visually appealing and competitive vehicles for the 1:32 GT series.

An American legend...
The Chevrolet Bel Air '57 is one of the vehicles that has been in the CARRERA range for 10 years. CoMod colleague Jörg wrote the following about the first Bei Airs 10 years ago: "I cannot judge whether these vehicles appeal to a sufficient group of buyers in Europe, but they will certainly have their fans in the USA and thus corresponding sales". That proved to be true: Although the car has been out of the German and European range for years, the Chevy enjoys unbroken popularity in the USA. CARRERA has been launching another racing version of the 2-door sedan on the market at regular intervals for years. The "civilian version" of the Bel Air was only available in 2008 (in red) and 2009 (in sky blue, only for the USA), all other versions were or are racing cars. Original racing Chevys from the time now fetch quite respectable prices at auctions in the USA Preise.Der The latest Chevy with item number 30795 is a racing version in the colors turquoise and white with the starting number 90. According to information from our designer Günter "Slottus" Leifer, the car is based on a real-life model. About the handling: The car impresses with its sheer size; there are 124s that are only slightly larger. The car's dimensions are also noticeable in its weight: the Bel Air weighs 119 grams. This is also noticeable when driving: The car sits firmly and surprisingly well on the road, there is no tendency to tip over in the bends due to the weight and the higher center of gravity. The Chevy's size and weight bring it close to the handling of the 1:24 models. The car is not a "burner" on the track, but can easily compete with the other (also quite large and heavy) Amis from the time mithalten.FFor those interested, the Chevy is available on Ebay USA or direct import from dealers there without any problems, there has also been a German dealer for years who re-imports the USA versions and offers them here.

Art. No.: 20030820, 20030821
I think it's well known that I'm a fan of the VW Beetle Group 5, and I still stand by that. The cars have a funny look and are incredibly good on the track thanks to their wide tires, wide track and short wheelbase. However, with the current item number 30821, I am reaching the limits of my taste with this type of vehicle: The Ladybugracer. A ladybug on wheels. What should I write about the car now? Yes, I know, Slottus is always looking to tap into new target groups. So why not women, who are severely underrepresented in our beloved hobby anyway. But I'm probably too sober for attributes like "oh, it's cute". The only thing I can find to be positive is the bodywork implementation with the almost transparent rear section, which I think is a really great solution So I'll save myself any further comments and simply state that this version of a racing ladybug could appeal to new target groups. GoThankfully, this year there is also the car with item number 30820: a Beetle in a classic racing livery that is clearly based on the old Lotus from the seventies. Black, gold letters and numbers. Unfortunately, nowadays you have to pay license fees for everything and everyone, and cigarette advertising on toys is not allowed, so Carrera opted for the letter combination BUG instead of the classic cigarette brand: BEETLE UNION GERMANY. And the car is really well made. The CARRERA lettering on the rear spoiler and the red front flap harmonize perfectly with the rest of the body, the car gives an absolutely coherent overall picture. The good driving characteristics of the Beetle are well known, I don't think I need to say anything more about that. One more thing: While I was writing this report, my two boys (aged 6 and 8) stormed into the room. When asked for their opinion on which of the two they liked better, the verdict was clear: The LADYBUGRACER!
I'm going to cry now...

CarreraDIGITAL 132 Ford Torino Talladega 'Bobby Unser, no. 92'

An American legend...
One of Walter Röhrl's most legendary races was his victory in 1987 at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC), the Race to the Clouds in the Rocky Mountains. It is less well known that the American Bobby Unser also won Pikes Peak the year before in an Audi Sport Quattro. At the time, he set a new course record of 11:09 min, which was then pulverized by Röhrl the following year with 10:47 min. The record now stands at 9:46 min. But who is Bobby Unser? Relatively little known here, the now 83-year-old Robert William is an American racing legend. He is one of only 10 drivers to have won the Indianapolis 500 at least 3 times and is one of only 2 drivers to have won the Indy500 in 3 different decades. He has successfully completed Pikes Peak 13 times as a winner, more than anyone else. This earned him the nickname "King of the Mountain". His brothers race (successfully), his son races (Pikes Peak: won 9 times), his nephews race. The UNSER family has the proverbial gasoline in its blood. The "new" '69 Torino from CARRERA is the car with which UNSER won the PIKES PEAK in 1969. The car was built by FORD especially for the hill climb and went straight to the PIKES PEAK Museum afterwards, so it never raced again. By the way, here is an interview with Bobby about the race and the car: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTkEb0qXsHo
'...children show you how time flies ...' - who hasn't heard this saying? On the Carreravehicles as well when you put the 5th, 6th or 7th color variant of a model on the shelf.
The D124 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR is now even the 11th - if you add the Lechner/Carrerarace cab, the dozen is full.
This variant shows the Felbermayr-Proton Team car in the livery of the 2013 ELMS race at the Hungaroring. Drivers Ried, Bachler and Tandy won the 3-hour race. The team was runner-up in the European Le Mans Series in 2013.
Everything has already been written about the outstanding driving characteristics of what is probably the lightest D124 Carreramodel of modern GT cars. This test vehicle is from regular production and has no technical or visual defects.
The design of the Haribo Racing Team was already extremely popular on the Porsche 911 GT3. Consequently, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 now also appears in the look of the Haribo Racing Team. Visually, the car leaves nothing to be desired, the paintwork is deep black and the well-known Goold bear is shown to its best advantage in a crisp and sharp way. Technically, everything remains as usual and the car offers a lot of driving pleasure. It doesn't matter whether you prefer a full or half magnet configuration, the model is impressive in both configurations.
For me, this vehicle was a surprising novelty this year. In 2010 and 2011, the road version of the Mercedes SLS appeared in just three colors (red, white, dark grey) and also in two different variants as a pace car. The first variant was only available in a special pack for Idee&Spiel, while the second was also available as a stand-alone model with visible visual changes. After a break of several years, the model has now been given a police look and is back on the track. As is usual with such models from Carrera , the windows are opaque and the driver's insert has been omitted. Not quite as nice for the looks, but good for the driving performance: Thanks to the weight saving, the Mercedes only weighs 95 grams and can be driven quickly and reliably. The lights and indicators can be switched on and off in all conceivable configurations. This brings us to the only point of criticism: the rear lights only glow comparatively dimly, while the separately illuminated "police" lettering at the rear is all the brighter. This is unlikely to bother the target group.

This model is a real long runner and has been in the range in its familiar form since 2008. The silver version is the ninth design variant in total and, for me, the most harmonious. The color does not have a greasy shine but a pleasant satin finish, the black hood and especially the rims form a pleasant contrast. There was a surprise during the driving test, because as you know, I am not a fan of this first digital chassis generation. Without a rear magnet, we took to the test track and the Ford Mustang circled the course wonderfully harmoniously and without any treacherous effects. It was clearly better than any other vehicle of this type that I have ever driven. The tires played a major part in this, as their grip on the test specimen definitely scattered upwards, which hopefully also applies to the entire production batch.

Carrera has had the licenses for the CARS films for a few years now. In addition to the well-known basic packs in the small GO!!!scale, the cars are also available for the large 132nd scale The first two came out a few years ago, of course the ever-popular hero Lightning McQueen, his opponent on the race track was the Italian Francesco Bernoulli in the Formula 1 look and the German Max Schnell, who was based on a DTM racer. At the beginning of the year, the neon version of the likeable racing car was launched on the market, also from the second feature film.
Now that the PIXAR film studios are bringing the third feature film about the impetuous NASCAR racing car to cinemas this year, CARRERA has once again decided to bring two 132s onto the market. This time, the vehicles are (no surprise) our title hero Lightning McQueen, plus the yellow NASCAR racer driven by the young technician Cruz Ramirez, who is supposed to train our ageing hero and teach him the latest tricks from the racing circus, as he is finding it increasingly difficult to keep up with the young, impetuous up-and-coming drivers. He still hasn't won the Piston Cup. For the first time, we have two cars here in 132 that can race directly against each other. Both have the same chassis, the same chassis dimensions and also similar bodies, so that the driving values are roughly comparable. Although the cars do not fit into the standard racing car scheme, they can certainly keep up with other vehicles from other racing series. Wide tires, the relatively short wheelbase and a very wide chassis structure ensure acceptable driving performance. What is even more important for the intended target group, however, is that the vehicles are almost indestructible in children's hands thanks to the construction of the bodywork using fewer add-on parts! And son can finally keep up with dad's beloved DTMs...

BMW M1 ... in factory design
No, not just the small version of the well-known 1:24 livery, but a "slightly" different car, because at least the details and the driver are different. Mario Andretti actually drove the Lotus 79 ( that's right ... the black John Player Lotus ) in the 79 Formula 1 season. It was a dramatic but also extremely successful season for him, which he crowned with the world championship title. Unthinkable today, back then the 5 fastest Formula 1 drivers of the respective Friday training sessions competed in races with BMW M1s in the supporting program. They raced against 19 private and sports car drivers, also in BMW M1s ... that was the Procar series. The 1979 series was won by Nikki Lauda, Mario Andretti is not listed in the 1979 Procar championship standings. Other Formula 1 celebrities such as Nelson Piquet, Jaques Lafitte and Clay Regazzoni have also appeared on the tracks in the Martini colors of the factory BMW. In my personal opinion, the 1:32 model is proportionally very well realized. The front and rear lighting and the brake lights are well executed and light up quite realistically. The printing and decals are flawless, clean and detailed. The axles run smoothly and quietly, which also applies to the gearbox/motor. There is very little space for trim weights in the chassis. The deep-drawn rear section is divided into two parts, one of which is glued to the chassis. The M1 is really fun on the track, it can be moved quickly and safely. The wheels are quite small and the tires have very little material for grinding ... but in my opinion this is not absolutely necessary. You can look forward to the next variants and then drive 1:32 Procar races.

One a day
Producing a GT a day, that's Ford's goal! Only 1000 units will be built, but the car will not be manufactured directly at FORD, but at the new assembly plant of MULTIMATIC in Markham, Ontario. MULTIMATIC is a privately owned, global company that provides components, systems and services designed for the automotive industry liefert.Den Ford officially launched the new GT in 2016, 50 years after the legendary GT40 won the 24 Hours of LeMans. And also entered the car in LeMans that year, where it won the race in its class. With the impressive figures that the Ford has to show, this is no Wunder.Der GT is powered by a brand-new 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine with 656 hp and a torque of 746 Nm). Thanks to its lightweight carbon fiber construction, the car has one of the best power-to-weight ratios ever seen in a car. Body: Carbon fiber monocoque with bolted aluminum frame front and rear, the body parts made of carbon fiber. Dihedral doors (which the Koenigsegg also has, for example), active aerodynamics, the windshield made of Gorilla glass (which is also used in smartphones, for example), pushrod suspensions, d.h. the chassis technology is derived directly from formula racing. More racing car is actually possible nicht.Kein wonder that the FORD has such impressive figures: from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, the top speed is 347 km/h, and that with a consumption of only 9.7 liters per 100 km.Von CARRERA has had the GT on a large and small scale since this year. Unfortunately, there are still hardly any real-life prototype vehicles that can be brought out as models. The orange and white car with item number 30786 is therefore not based on a real-life model, but the paintwork is in keeping with the style. The bright paintwork is a pleasant departure from the currently predominant black-silver-red-blue color scheme in racing and therefore looks good on the track. The handling of the GT is beyond question, the car impresses with its directional stability and good pulling power. All in all, a real asset to the range.

While the Ferrari 575 GTC was still predominantly red monotony, this has fortunately changed with the Ferrari 458 GT3. Colorful variety is on the agenda, this time the choice fell on the black and green AF Corse car from the 2016 Blancpain Endurance Series. The model is just as wide and flat as the original vehicle. And the large scale allows the representation of numerous details. The front and rear lights and the imitation engine are particularly successful. Even after three years in the range, the body leaves nothing to be desired and technically everything remains the same. Unfortunately, this also means that a lot of mass needs to be moved. Depending on the magnet configuration selected, the model weighs between 230 and 240 grams - lightweight is a different story. This is also noticeable when driving: on the one hand, the weight gives the car a smooth and quiet road holding, on the other hand, the car does not accelerate and brake as quickly as lighter D124 vehicles. Nevertheless, the model is another useful addition to the GT3 starter field in 1:24 scale.
This year, CARRERA is once again bringing us one of the popular BMW M1s in another classic livery: the 1984 M1 from the Danish team CASTROL DENMARK. CASTROL is one of the oldest lubricant manufacturers in the world; the brand was founded in 1899 by the Briton Charles C. Wakefield. The oil company has been active as a sponsor in Formula 1 since 1950, but its involvement in motorsport began even earlier, in 1905, as Mr. Wakefield already recognized at that time that racing success brings sales figures. Among others, CASTROL sponsored the Danish racing driver Jens Winther, who set up his own TEAM CASTROL DENMARK from 1984 to 1986. Born in 1938 on the island of Zealand in the Baltic Sea, the Dane was still driving the BMW M1 in the legendary golden WARSTEINER design in 1983 (also a car we would like to see on the racetrack! (hint with the fence post !!!), he founded his own team in 1984 and in the following years contested various races at Spa, Brands Hatch, Mugello, Hockenheim, Kyalami, Silverstone, Nürburgring and also LeMans. Unfortunately, he retired from LeMans in 1984 with this BMW due to damage to the left front suspension. His best result at LeMans was eleventh place overall and second place in Group C2 (Group Junior) with a CRD racing car in 1986. He then ended his racing activities at the peak of his career.

Now it's also available in 1:24, the blue, white and red Ford GT. I have already commented on the real vehicle in the 1:32 report and don't want to bore you with a repetition here. In purely visual terms, the 1:24 model is really something. The small space in the wheel arches, the slightly raised front lip and the rear diffuser give the vehicle a flat and aggressively sporty line in conjunction with the bodywork and paintwork design. The proportions to the prototype vehicle appear to be well maintained. The incorrect German flag next to the driver's name (black-yellow-red instead of black-red-yellow) ... hmm I've now clicked through umpteen original photos ... on starting number 66 you can see the German flag in the correct color sequence ... unfortunately the photos of no. 68 don't give anything clear ... no drama, more of a side note. Unfortunately, the model vehicle with approx. 253 grams is very heavy. Its rather calm and uncomplicated handling characteristics due to its length and wheelbase can hardly be translated into fast laps, especially on small tracks. Larger tracks with long combinations of bends should benefit, because the Ford is good in the bends ... only the changes and accelerating on the straights ... a little fine-tuning could help. In the field of previous GT vehicles from the Carrera 124 range, the Ford GT will rarely make it onto the podium ... although it would have more than deserved it in purely visual terms.

Black Beauty
... if you're thinking of a black horse, you're not far wrong. However, this is not about the corny TV series from the 70s, but about the latest version of a 1:32 classic from Carrera.
The latest Ford Mustang GT is adapted to the 1967 model year with a new shape. The side air intakes, the radiator grille, the Mustang emblem, the rear section, the lights and other details have been changed accordingly, it is a "new model".
The glossy black paint, the two bright red longitudinal stripes and the white starting numbers give the vehicle a contemporary look; make it look good and be recognizable on the track. The driver's insert and the sponsor decals are designed to match the 60s. The front light is a little bright (for a vehicle from the 60s) and also shines downwards in front of the front tires from the body. The rear/brake lights are great and certainly easily recognizable even on larger tracks.
The basic design with a fairly narrow steering wheel turning angle, a fairly high weight and the wedge-shaped underbody construction - which, depending on the viewing angle, detracts a little from the otherwise great appearance of the vehicle - is almost unchanged and makes the vehicle a diva when moving at racing speed ... fun to drive, but definitely tricky.
The blue and white Audi from FITZGERALD RACING is now the tenth R8 LMS that CARRERA has brought to the racetrack in 1:24 scale. If you take a look at the 10 racing cars in the vehicle database, you will be struck by the variety of colors. Or as the saying goes: a balanced starting field...
The new R8 from the Australian racing team is no exception. In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful 3 Audi alongside the BILSTEIN and the RED BULL. http://www.fitz-racing.com.au/
Fitzgerald is an Australian racing team founded in 1994 by Peter Fitzgerald. Peter has been racing with Porsche since 1979 and is one of Australia's most successful drivers. He founded his racing team at the suggestion of the then Chairman of PORSCHE AUSTRALIA. The company competes successfully in various racing series, specializes in tuning Porsches from normal sports cars to the GT3 Cup, and with the company offshoot EVOLVE-Technik, the company earns money by tuning all kinds of production vehicles, hence the EVOLVE lettering on the side of the Audi. http://www.evolve-technik.com.au/
Another striking feature of the Audi R8 is the very large LIQUI MOLY sponsor sticker on the windshield. And if you google BATHURST, the 12-hour race in which the Audi ran in this livery, you will also come across LIQUI MOLY. The company is currently also the sponsor of the legendary race: http://www.bathurst12hour.com.au/
LIQUI MOLY, the oil and additive manufacturer from the Swabian town of Ulm, has become known to a wider circle of people in Germany primarily through its managing director and owner Ernst Probst. The company has been involved in motorsport for a long time (in Germany, for example, it is the main sponsor of the ENGSTLER racing team from the WTCC), but also promotes popular sports. FITZGERALD RACING has also been part of the LIQUI MOLY family since 2015. A very informative interview with Peter Fitzgerald on the subject can be found at the following link: http://freestylerides.com/6632/fitzgerald-racing-sevices-joins-the-liqui-moly-family/

After a long time, a thoroughbred GT from traditional manufacturer Ford, 50 years after the legendary Ford GT40, Ford wants to get back into the game and takes class victory in the GTE Pro classification at the 24-hour LeMans race. While the "civilian" version will be sold to buyers or successful applicants in the period from 2016-2020 with 250 units per year with a 3.5-liter engine and approx. 480 Kw (approx. 650 hp) for a price of approx. 500,000 euros, the racing version will be used by the Chip Ganassi Racing UK team in the FIA GT Endurance Championship.
This 1:32 scale model from Carrera shows the variant that is used in the FIA GT Series, it can be ordered from the Carreradealer without a 24-page application process or taken directly on site. This version appears to be really true to the original in terms of the overall look, the printing and the decals. Only the 24h LeMans starting number, which has only been hinted at, presumably for reasons of license costs - we've been over this before - will be noticed by the critical observer. I can live with that. The chassis is tidy, the axles turn freely and have the necessary lateral tolerance. The vehicle is equipped with the D132 standard lighting - front and rear/brake lights. The very protruding rear diffuser in the original photos is integrated into the chassis in the model and slightly weakened, but fits the overall vehicle visually better than it comes across in the photos of the original. It has no function in the model, except as impact protection. The relatively narrow and long GT still offers space for trim weights in the chassis, which should further improve its handling without magnets. Length, can be confirmed with this model - similar to the 1:32 Maserati MC12 ... even if I personally prefer compact and wide ;-)
All in all, the Ford GT is a great addition to the GT vehicle pool and I'm looking forward to the upcoming 1:24 version.

Test report on the CarreraDIGITAL 132 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 "No.19" Art. No.: 20030766
This second version of the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 was delivered late. The model has no real role model, the design is a fantasy version. The reasons and background were given by Slottus in the forum.
Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they like the look. The design definitely stands out from the mass of GT3 vehicles, not least because of the rims in the unusual white color scheme. There is nothing to complain about in terms of driving. No matter which magnet configuration is used, the car turns its laps quietly and smoothly. The handling is a good compromise between "good-natured" and "fast".

CarreraDIGITAL 132 Porsche 918 Spyder GULF
Test report on the CarreraDIGITAL 132 Porsche 918 Spyder GULF Racing Art. No.: 20030788
If you still want a Porsche 918 Spyder, you are definitely too late: 918 units of the 887 hp racer were produced, and it was never intended to be more. Production ended in 2015 and the car was also available to buy in various retro designs (z.B. MARTINI, which we also know from the racetrack). However, the most exclusive versions are probably the cars in GULF livery, of which only 2 were produced. The initiator of the two vehicles was the Canadian Vaughn Wyant, President of the Wyant Group, which also owns the Porsche Center in Saskatoon, Canada. https://porschecentresaskatchewan.com/ Since Porsche no longer had a contractual relationship with the GULF OIL Company and therefore had no rights to use the original blue-orange color scheme, Mr. Wyant asked GULF Canada if he could paint two vehicles in the GULF colors. GULF agreed after lengthy negotiations, and Porsche also gave its OK. The decision may have been influenced by the advertising effect of the vehicles, as the GULF brand was only reintroduced in Canada in 2015 after a 30-year absence from the market. After the official blessing "from above", Mr. Wyant commissioned a team of designers to create the paintwork of the two Porsches based on the old Porsche 917K Gulf to be absolutely "contemporary": Analysis of the paintwork based on old original photos, correct fit and width of the center stripes, etc., all with the support of Porsche AG. Both vehicles differ only in minor details, for example, no. 1 has blue piping on the seats, while the second has orange stitching. Although a few other 918 owners have also repainted their vehicles in GULF livery and added decals, these two Porsches are the only "Gulf Livery Period Correct" cars that were officially manufactured with factory approval from PORSCHE and GULF.

CarreraDIGITAL 132 Mercedes C-Coupe AMG DTM - Lucas Auer
CarreraDIGITAL 132 Mercedes C-Coupe AMG DTM - Lucas Auer
In November 2016, the collectors' scene was thrown into turmoil when a Evolution "Hightech Race BWT vs. Euronics" basic pack suddenly appeared on various sales portals. It contained two Mercedes C-Coupe AMG DTM, one the well-known blue and yellow model of Gary Paffett and a previously unknown model in pink.
Fake? Special edition? Neither, just an early 2017 novelty that had its first appearance in this special set. And as has already been discussed in the forum, the design doesn't really match the existing body shape, as Lucas Auer drove the successor model in the original. Nevertheless, the adaptation to the now quite old shape from 2013 has been very successful, and the black rims contribute to the appearance.
With the best will in the world, I can't tell you anything new about the technology and driving behavior: the lighting scatters slightly from the sides of the wheel arches at the front, and the driving performance is faultless. The model sits firmly on the track and offers balanced handling, just like all other DTM cars.
I quote from the Lamborghini homepage: With the Huracán Avio, you're not just a normal driver. You are a racing driver. So make sure you are properly strapped in! Now press the start button and experience what it means to float safely connected to the ground in seventh heaven. The incredible power of the Huracán is now presented in a completely new design, inspired by the glorious history of aviation technology. Aggressive yet elegant, the Huracán Avio pays homage to the courage of the Air Force and offers you completely new emotions of freedom and adrenaline. Is everyone on board ready for take-off? The latest speedster from the racing car factory in Sant' Agata Bolognese was presented in Geneva in March 2016. The car pays tribute to the aviation industry, from which Lamborghini drew a lot of inspiration for its designs. The vehicle is being produced in a small series of 250 units and is available in only 5 special colors: "Grigio Falco", "Blu Grifo", "Grigio Nibbio", "Grigio Vulcano" and "Verde Turbine", the names were taken from the course emblems of the Italian Air Force Academy. The color variant released by CARRERA is called "Grigio Falco", the racing stripes and other accents are set off in "Arancio Borealis" (Lamborghini Orange). This version was presented in 2016 at the Lyon Air Museum in Costa Mesa, California (for the museum, see their homepage: www.lyonairmuseum.org ). The identification L63 on the doors stands for LAMBORGHINI and its founding year 1963, when the tractor manufacturer Ferruccio Lamborghini allegedly decided to build his own sports cars out of anger at Enzo Ferrari. The Carrera-Lambo differs from the original from the California pictures in clear lacquer by the matt lacquer finish, but there are also photos on the net that show the car in matt lacquer. The outstanding driving performance of the slot car is well known, please refer to the previous test reports.
Art. No. 20030778 In the assortment: 2017 Report by: CoMod Chris
In his fourth DTM season, Marco Wittmann has already secured his second championship title. Since BMW's return in 2012, he is the most successful driver of this era, and BMW the most successful brand. Compared to his first championship title, the design of his race car changed to Red Bull. Mike's pictures speak for themselves, the model looks good from every angle, and the detailed printing is particularly impressive. You can see very little of the driver figure in the cockpit, it sits true to the original at the height of the B-pillar.
In terms of handling, the model does not differ significantly from the other DTM vehicles released to date. Due to its dimensions and weight, it sits securely on the track, shows good-natured behavior in the curves and thus allows very good lap times throughout.

CarreraDIGITAL 132 PORSCHE 917K "GESIPA RACING TEAM, NO.54
CarreraDIGITAL 132 PORSCHE 917K "GESIPA RACING TEAM, NO.54
One of this year's novelties in the 132 sector is the well-known blue and yellow Porsche 917K of the GESIPA Racing Team. For the history of the vehicle and the team, I simply refer you to my report on the 124 vehicle from 2013 (I could simply copy the report again, but that would be too easy...).
If you compare the big one with the small one, you will of course notice the better attention to detail of the 124. However, as the original car Gothankfully doesn't necessarily stand out due to its jagged bodywork, the "little brother" doesn't look like a rough block on the tracks either. The vehicles in both scales impress with their great attention to detail, which is repeatedly praised in model making and even car magazines (currently z.B. in OLDTIMER MARKT). Where the large and small cars differ, however, is in their engine and driving characteristics. The 124 - like every car from the large scale - drives much more harmoniously overall, but also much more demanding. A 124 requires different handling, more practice and also more control of the vehicle. This is also one of the main reasons why this scale has retained such a loyal fan base over the decades. Size, length, wheelbase, engine and weight do make a difference when they are "voluminously" dimensioned. The small 917s, on the other hand, are very lively vehicles. Personally, they are almost too lively for me, they literally take off "like Schmidt's cat". The well-known flat engine is installed for space reasons, which of course has a completely different response behavior than the large block engine from the 124. Thanks to the strong magnet and the much lower weight, the Porsche literally sticks to the track and is therefore almost impossible to throw off course. It is therefore easier to drive (and therefore also much more home track-friendly) than the much heavier "big" Porsche.
Conclusion: they are both a lot of fun, but despite the visual similarity, we have two completely different vehicles here.
Carrera has extensively sponsored the Porsche GT3 used by the Lechner Racing Team as a race cab at the Salzburgring. The fact that this vehicle has now been released as a 1:24 scale model for the local racetrack is sure to please many fans.
The model appears as a 'Special Edition' in an edition of 1,000 pieces.
