CarreraDIGITAL 132 Audi R8 LMS 'Audi Sport Team' Item no.: 20030769
Technical data: Weight (complete vehicle with magnets): 108 grams Weight (body): 36 grams Length incl. spoiler: 147 mm Wheelbase: 85 mm Track width (front axle): 62 mm Track width (rear axle): 61 mm
Varianten The announcement of this vehicle was no real surprise. The predecessor model of the same name could be found in great variety in the GT series worldwide as well as in the Carrera range, so the implementation of the successor is only logical. Two "Audi Sport" versions have initially been announced for 2016, this one in silver and another in red.
Optics/body: The basic shape of the body is still unmistakably recognizable as an Audi R8, but in detail the lines have become much more striking and angular. The model convinces with an accurate realization of the prototype, especially the rims with the indicated brake discs and the headlights are very detailed. The same applies to the printing, even if the silver-black color scheme seems a little unattractive to me personally.
Technik/Karosserie: The chassis is also a new design compared to the predecessor model, but with all the familiar features: the E200 power unit, two removable magnets, digital circuit board, SMD lighting. The front axle is rigid and continuous, but the model is no lightweight due to its solid and extensive construction.
Fahrtest: Due to the flat and wide basic shape and the comparatively high weight, the car's handling is relatively firm and neutral, and the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 is a good comparison. My DTM cars set slightly better lap times, but that shouldn't stand in the way of the little R8's future success.
After its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in early March 2015, the new Mercedes AMG GT3 was able to achieve a remarkable second place in its second race in the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring in the fall of 2015. Overall victory was only prevented by a time penalty shortly before the end of the race. The new AMG GT3, successor to the retired SLS GT3, was driven by the 3 AMG test and development drivers Bernd Schneider, Thomas Jäger and Jan Seyffarth, all 3 drivers were also significantly involved in the development of the racing car. In total, more than 12,000 test kilometers were completed with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 during development.
A few brief comments on the model: The car is an old acquaintance; it has been in the range in 1:32 scale since 2013. There is nothing wrong with the overall appearance. The printing is very clean and detailed. When driving, it is advisable to remove the wing mirrors (otherwise they will fly off by themselves after a few laps following contact with the enemy). The acceleration is good as known from the model, top speed as well, with the car you can achieve very good lap times.

CarreraDIGITAL 132 BMW Z4 GT3 Schubert Motorsport - Blancpain 2014
In my opinion, item no. 30744, the new BMW Z4 GT3 of the "Schubert Motorsport" racing team with starting number 20, is one of the visual highlights of this year's CARRERA program. The BMW was entered in this livery in the ADAC GT Masters series in 2015. The car stands out from any field of drivers with its blue and orange livery. No, it's not a GULF livery, but this color combination is one of the most beautiful that is possible on a racing car. And what we want to see on our race tracks are racing cars, not production cars. The "Schubert Motorsport" team has existed since 2007 and is based in Oschersleben at the Motor Sport Arena Oschersleben. The founder is the former autocross and German Touring Car Challenge driver Torsten Schubert. On the side (or full-time?), Mr. Schubert also runs eight BMW dealerships.

From the road to the race track
That was the concept that the big American corporations pursued in the sixties when the first sports cars were developed: the Corvette from Chevrolet, the Mustang from Ford. Let's take a look at Chevrolet, whose latest racing car from CARRERA I have here in front of me: item number 30757, a Corvette Sting Ray 427 with the starting number 8 in classic blue, white and red (American) paintwork. The Corvette itself is a really old acquaintance, the car was first released in 2001. In real life, something like this is actually considered a classic car... ? However, this model continues to enjoy uninterrupted popularity on the other side of the Atlantic, which is why the car only appears in the US program. Of course, collectors know how to get their hands on the model.
As I said, the basic design is now 15 years old. As a result, the driving behavior and technology are no longer necessarily up to the latest standards. However, you have to make compromises with this vehicle anyway, as the car is not comparable with modern racing cars. Narrow tires, a narrow track and crashes if the car is driven too aggressively are inevitable. However, if you compare the car with its direct competitors from the CARRERA range, it can easily keep up. You should always be aware that the conversion of a vehicle from the fifties or sixties for the racetrack naturally also means that the Slotracer has a driving behavior similar to a classic car. Anyone who has ever driven a real car from this period knows what I mean.
But I actually wanted to write a few more sentences about the Corvette Grand Sport program. The first Corvettes were entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans as early as 1960, one of which even won the largest GT displacement class and finished 8th overall. in 1962, Zora Arkus-Duntov, the first chief engineer of the Chevrolet Corvette, built the first racing cars of the Grand Sport series for the 1963 Le Mans race. 125 ultra-lightweight, high-performance cars were to be built, but GENERAL MOTORS ended its racing sponsorship after only five cars had been built. The Grand Sport program came to an end before the first cars entered the race. Despite the racing ban, the above-mentioned chief engineer gave the original cars to private racing drivers (including Roger Penske and Jim Hall) in order to obtain the hoped-for information from racing for further series development. Arkus-Duntov developed high-performance brakes and larger fuel tanks so that production cars could be used in racing. He was also responsible for the famous big block engine. Motorsport successes were achieved in the following years, but only by private individuals, as GENERAL MOTORS still did not operate an official racing team. It was not until 1999 that CORVETTE RACING celebrated its return to international motorsport with the C5-R.

Shortly after the first version "Wendell Scott", the second version "Benny Parsons" was released. I can't tell you anything substantially new about the technology or driving behavior and therefore refer you to the first test report of vehicle 30754. It is relatively unusual for two new designs to appear from one old mold. On the other hand, this means that a suitable opponent vehicle is immediately available, as most of the older models in this series have been out of print for a long time. For the USA, both Ford Torino models will appear in a basic pack "30194 Ford Fastbacks".

The Procar grid is filling up!
The M1 of the Canadian team 'David Deacon Racing' - which was obviously the inspiration for the design - unfortunately did not reach the finish line at the '24 Hours of Daytona 1981'. Let's hope that things work out better on the domestic Carreratrack.
Black car on black track is a bit critical depending on the light and track size - the bright yellow-red livery of the sponsor CAM2 sets visible accents.
The excellent handling characteristics of the M1 are now well known and described.
We can't wait to see what other color variants we can look forward to.

Pooh ...
which at first sounds like a sigh of relief or the name of a honey-licking bear, is the main sponsor of the new BMW M1 in 1:24 scale, the original was driven by Marc Surer at the Norisring in 1980. Okay, POOH is a jeans brand, as you can read from the flawless printing on the model. But even if that fits in with my age, I've never heard of a POOH jeans brand ... so curiosity aroused and Internet searched.
Even after a long search, I could only find clothes a la Disney, the jeans brand POOH doesn't seem to have made it out of the 809s onto the internet ... maybe one of you can find something about the company (I'd be interested to know).
The design of the vehicle, with the light blue and white color fields and the yellow zipper, looks successful and fits the vehicle well in terms of proportions and layout. Everything in the model is prototypically realized and executed without errors. I particularly like MARC, the discreet driver figure. All in all, an enrichment for the series, easily recognizable and distinguishable on the track. As a 1:24 model, the BMW M1 has no technical imperfections, defects or other difficulties. The fact that it is fun to drive is well known from our reports and our own experiences - unfortunately only in a pure BMW M1 series due to the transmission. But that gives us hope for many more models in the years to come.
Perhaps the next version should be the BMW M1 that Christian Danner, Manfred Schurti and Manfred Winkelhock drove in 1980 .... It wears a H.I.S. Advertisement, the jeans brand still tells me something ;-)

CarreraDIGITAL 124 Audi R8 LMS 'Yaco Racing - 2015' Art. No. 20023826
An old acquaintance
The Audi R8 LMS in 124 scale is an old acquaintance on the Carrera race track, the first large R8 appeared in the range in 2012, the car has been available in 1:32 for a long time. I don't need to write much more about the handling of this year's color variant of the Audi, just look at the test reports from the last few years. The workmanship and, above all, the prototypical printing of the Audi leaves nothing to be desired.
The current item number 23826 is the racing car from 2015 of the YACO Racing racing team from Vogtland. The motorsport team was founded in 2001 by rally driver Uwe Geipel. https://www.facebook.com/Yaco-Racing-269218073239895/?ref=page_internal in 2006 YACO competed in the ADAC Procar racing series for the first time, since 2012 they have been racing in the ADAC GT Masters series, since 2013 YACO have been racing with an Audi R8: http://www.motorsport-bbr.de/index.php/adac-gtm/130-yaco-racing-mit-neuem-audi-und-geipel-frey-im-adac-gt-masters
If you take a closer look at the car, you will notice that Rahel Frey is named as the second driver alongside Philip Geipel. The good-looking blonde has been driving for the racing team from Plauen since 2014; the Swiss driver was previously active in the DTM. http://www.rahelfrey.ch/
- well, almost. Kaspersky, the well-known manufacturer of protection software, is the main sponsor of this Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 of the AF Corse racing team from Piacenza. The Blancpain Endurance Series is a motorsport racing series for Gran Turismo cars in the GT3 class with the season highlight being the 24-hour race at Spa Francorchamp. Otherwise, endurance races over 3 and 6 hours are held in this racing series. The main and title sponsor of the series is the Swiss watch company Blancpain. There is not much more to say about the model car (see also my report). The design is excellently chosen, it makes the otherwise rather bullish-aggressive front look of the Ferrari almost "a friendly face" and is very easy to recognize on the track with the color scheme and easy to distinguish from other vehicles. The driver figure is very well made and fits the vehicle perfectly. I already mentioned the very successful imitation engine in the last report, but I always like to see such details. There is nothing to criticize about the technical design of the vehicle, it can go straight onto the track - well, you can remove the magnets if you like, but otherwise everything is ready to race. If you take a closer look at the paintwork, it's almost unfortunate to expose it to tough racing conditions - but even if it looks like it, it's not a stationary model and imperfections and paint applications are kind of a must for a real racing car.

Women's car
There are cars about which much has been written and about which much will still be written. So if you have to write a report about such a vehicle, you simply can't compete with the professionals as an amateur writer. The Porsche 911 Cabrio is such a car. Much-loved, cliché-ridden... But before I try my hand at anything, I would like to refer you to an article by Margit Stoffels, production assistant at ZEIT magazine, who wrote a wonderful homage to the Porsche Cabrio in ZEIT-ONLINE magazine in 2010: http://www.zeit.de/2010/34/Auto-Porsche-911-Carrera-Cabrio There's not really much more to say about it.
So the dentist/lawyer/housewife/etc etc etc Porsche (enough clichés?) is now also available for the CARRERA track in 1:32 scale. In the exciting colors silver and red. Soon also in white. Black is still missing, but you never know what will come. There is nothing wrong with the appearance of the new mold, the workmanship is of the usual high quality and the paintwork leaves nothing to be desired. As with the wonderful original vehicle, the shape has been realized with great attention to detail and the proportions are just right. As usual with the previous Porsche convertibles from CARRERA, there is a male driver in the cockpit; personally, I would also like to see a female driver in the car. The handling of the convertible leaves nothing to be desired, the Porsche has a fast acceleration, also thanks to the good grip of the tires. Thanks to the wide tires, the relatively short wheelbase and the wide track, the car can be circled wonderfully through the bends without immediately testing the limits. This means that the car is also suitable for inexperienced drivers (or wives) (cliché alert!!!), you can't go wrong with the convertible.
It's a Porsche 917K, and it comes in Gulf design. This could actually be the end of this text, because both will ensure that this model will sell very well. Even if the 1:32 scale does not quite achieve the level of detail of its larger brothers, the model is still a very attractive slot model. In order to achieve this visual finesse, a small compromise had to be made on the technical side and the flatter engine from the formula cars was used instead of the standard engine. Although this achieves high engine speeds, it also has a somewhat "sharper" characteristic and therefore, in my opinion, cannot be controlled quite as harmoniously. This makes the little Porsche 917K very fast, but not necessarily good-natured to drive. What's more, the bodywork makes a very loud roaring noise. This will not deter true 917 fans, but my favorites remain the vehicles based on somewhat younger models.

CarreraDIGITAL 132 Ford Torino Talladega "Wendell Scott" Art. No. 20030754
Varianten: The announcement of this vehicle was one of the biggest surprises of 2016 for me. The Ford Torino Talladega first appeared in the Evolution range in 2004, with a total of 5 different design variants appearing over the following years. Digitally retrofittable versions were announced in the USA catalogs as early as 2010 and 2011, but in both cases they were not realized but removed from the range. But now the time has finally come.
Optics/body: Even if the body shape is already more than 10 years old, it still reflects the original very well. The wall thickness of the body is generously dimensioned, which increases the weight but also ensures stability. The red color scheme is rather plain, but the oversized start numbers and the chrome bumpers prevent visual boredom.
Technik/Karosserie: The chassis is almost completely identical to that of the digital Dodge Charger Daytona or Plymouth Roadrunner/Superbird, although the front floor panel is slightly tapered at the front. Apart from that, all the familiar elements are on board: digital circuit board with direction switch, two removable magnets and the standard E200 engine.
Fahrtest: In view of the high overall weight and the rather narrow and tall shape, no miracles are to be expected in terms of handling. Once again, however, the phrase "length runs" proves to be true: the Torino is very good-natured to drive, but without a rear magnet it mutates into a rear-end skid. However, even in tight bends, it is rare for the car to take off. The thick tires result in a very quiet and pleasant driving noise.
Technical data: Weight (complete vehicle with magnets): 107 grams Weight (body): 36 grams Length incl. spoiler: 148 mm Wheelbase: 83 mm Track width (front axle): 62 mm Track width (rear axle): 62 mm
Vehicles from the GT3 series are extremely popular with CarreraDigital 132 drivers, and the response to the announcement of this model was correspondingly positive. It is also the first new shape of the year.
The real-life model was presented in a poison green livery with the starting number 63, and the Lambo then took to the real race track with minor visual touch-ups. Accordingly, this design was also chosen for Carrera , which was already known through the media.
Technically, the model meets the familiar standards, with a continuous front axle ensuring stable road holding, SMD LEDs for powerful lighting and the E200 engine for powerful acceleration. Overall, the handling is most comparable to that of DTM cars: the Lamborghini sits firmly on the track and you can easily achieve good lap times. As always, the behavior at the limit can be adjusted via the magnet configuration.
Mamerow Racing is a German racing team from the Ruhr region. Father Peter Mamerow began competing in the VW Golf Cup in 1982 and his son Christian drove successfully from 2009 in the BFGoodrich Endurance Championship. The team competes with Audi and Mercedes, but often also with Porsche. Meanwhile the team competes in the Special Touring Car Trophy H&R Cup, from which this model also originates
Model comes from.
Optik: The vehicle with the strong blue color scheme is very good on the track to see. I personally like the design to a certain extent, as the basic diagonal-striped design can be found in a similar style on the Falken Porsche and the Felbermayr Porsche can be found.
Technik: Known technology is used, as far as nothing new here.
Verarbeitung: Paintwork/printing all in order, thumbs up. without faults and reproach. The front axle turns smoothly, the rear axle could do with a drop of oil. Tires have good grip and can be run in on the track.
Driving behavior: as usual, the Porsches are agile, but because of the ratio Width/height also somewhat sensitive.
Fazit: a nice, if not spectacular, addition to the Porsche/GT field
Racing cars in the classic white/silver/blue/red design of the Martini brand have been on the racetracks of this world and the Carreratracks in the good Parlors. Whether in Formula 1, in rallying, in the various GT classes, at Le Mans or motorcycle racing, Martini has been an integral part of the racing scene for Decades without it. I am therefore all the more delighted that a 1:24 model from a current series in the Martini look has made it onto the racetrack.
Optik: The white Mercedes in Martini look is of course very recognizable on the track and looks really good ... the white paintwork with the colorful decals underlines the brawny and aggressive shape of the Mercedes ... the model is superbly realized. I personally like especially the rims and the brakes. Some molded or implied details in the vehicle interior round off the overall impression.
Technik: Actually all familiar components. The front light is white, bright enough, and also suitable for night racing. Rear lights are bright, brake lights are clearly visible. The tires have grip, but are prototypically quite thin, so sanding is only possible with caution.
Verarbeitung: The paintwork and clearcoat are neatly applied. All other Components such as decals and also the technical components are flawless and cleanly assembled. Wheels and axles turn easily and run smoothly, no problems.
Fahrverhalten: The vehicle is already a heavyweight and must be driven accordingly i find the handling with and without the magnet to be quite balanced and pleasant

CarreraDIGITAL 132 Chevrolet Bel Air "Oval Racer
CarreraDIGITAL 132 Chevrolet Bel Air 57 "Oval Racer" Art. No.: 20030759
What is an oval racer? Or to put it another way, what is oval track racing? In popular parlance: driving in circles. That's the favorite argument of motorsport opponents: "they drive in circles all the time". Not (always) true for European racetracks, but definitely true for American ones. The dominant type of racetrack in the USA is the oval, regardless of whether NASCAR, INDY or other racing series, whether on asphalt, concrete or sand. And in the 1960s, the Bel Air has been at home on every one of these tracks since the legendary 327 small-block engine appeared, and with great success. I won't list the dates now, if you want to, you can take a quick look at the following link, the paragraph "post production popularity" is particularly interesting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1957_Chevrolet
The new Chevrolet Bel Air (art. no. 30759), which unfortunately only appears for the American market, has no specific role model. However, the color scheme of the vehicle somehow reminds me of a Nascar legend. In any case, the paintwork is exceptionally well done and the car is a real eye-catcher. The handling is always surprising; with the relatively narrow tires, you would expect the car to tip over more quickly in fast corners. However, the Chevi's wide track and long wheelbase mean that it sits very firmly on the road. The car is really fun, and the color scheme and overall look do the rest. For me personally, the car is one of the design highlights of the year.

CarreraDIGITAL 132 Ford Mustang 1967 Item no. 20030758
American Classic
This year, 6 special US vehicles are planned, with the Chevy Bel Air and the Ford Mustang being the first two. These are old acquaintances that have been in the range for many years and are always being reissued in new designs. This time, the body is wrapped in a subtle blue metallic and bears the starting number "16". It is therefore a racing version, although I have not found any photos of the prototype. But it doesn't matter, that shouldn't play a role in the purchase decision.
The bodywork as such is very well done, but I still can't get to grips with the overall look of the vehicle. This is mainly due to the jacked-up rear axle and the protruding rear wheels, which give a somewhat pretentious impression overall. As with the previous design variants of this vehicle, the chassis still uses the first generation of digital running gear. This means that the holding magnets can be easily unscrewed from the outside without having to open the vehicle. The motor/rear axle unit can also be folded down for servicing. On the other hand, this first generation carries around some design ballast, which is not necessarily conducive to performance on the track. With a full set of magnets, the handling is uncritical, but also boring. If you remove one or even both holding magnets, a sensitive thumb is required, as the Mustang is reluctant to drive through tight bends and a certain tendency to tip is omnipresent. As a result, only the other Ford Mustangs that have been released to date can be considered as suitable opponents.

Hey Mr. Postman
Deutsche Post has been a sponsor of the DTM for a long time; David Coulthard's eye-catching race car, for example, is unforgotten. Meanwhile, Timo Glock, another prominent ex-F1 driver in the DTM, drives the fastest post car in the world.
Mike's pictures speak for themselves, the model cuts a very good figure from every perspective. The black lines and add-on parts create an attractive contrast, as do the black rims that are common on BMW models.
In terms of driving performance, the little BMW fits easily into the existing DTM fleet: fast and easy to control, although the car is no lightweight. I received an above-average number of emails and inquiries in advance asking when this model would finally be available. Measured against this, the Post-M4 should be an absolute bestseller.
One of the most eagerly awaited novelties of 2016 for the Digital 124 is without doubt the Porsche 917K Daytona 1970. The blue Porsche with the white stripes is a visual treat. With this design, it was one of the classics in the CARRERA range; the car was already available in white with red stripes for the old Universal132 and the 124, and this year it appeared in white with blue stripes in 132 scale. The car was driven by the Porsche-Audi team, see the lettering on the side of the car. The question always arises as to why there is a Porsche-Audi team, as Audi was not active in motor racing at that time, and the Audi brand only really existed again from 1965. Audi didn't have anything racing-related in its product range in those years, the cars were as sporty as 3 meters of dirt track (apart from the legendary Audi 100 Coupé, which was a normal sports car and wasn't used in races).
The name of the PORSCHE AUDI theme has historical reasons: In the fall of 1950, the first three Porsches were exported to the USA. The importer was the legendary Max Hoffmann, an Austrian who had emigrated to the USA. Hoffmann was also an importer for Mercedes and u.a. responsible for building the Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing. America was already Porsche's most important export market in the mid-1950s. in 1955, the Porsche of America Corporation (POAC) was founded as an independent sales network, which was dissolved in 1969. Its tasks were taken over by the Porsche-Audi Division of Volkswagen of America Inc. One of the division's aims was to establish a new and exclusive sales network for the Porsche and Audi brands. The PA sales company was owned 50% by Porsche and 50% by VW, the dealers had no share in this company but were "only" customers. This company between Porsche and VW was only dissolved in 1984.
The 917s that started in Sebring were therefore registered by the American general importer (but looked after and maintained by the Porsche factory team from Zuffenhausen). And that's why AUDI is also on the Porsche 917.
There are races that become legendary for a variety of reasons. Due to legendary duels (z.B. Senna - Prost at the 1988 Japanese GP), accidents (Lauda at the Nürburgring), or, for example, vehicle failures (most recently: Toyota in the 24 Hours of LeMans, failure on the last lap).
Sebring 1970 was one such race: The FERRARI works team was under pressure because it had not won at Sebring for years. So it entered the race with four Ferrari 512Ss, three of which were Spyders (and a 312P Coupe from the NART team in the USA). Main opponent Porsche fielded everything it had in its racing car range at the time: 917K, 908/02, 906, 911T. Five 917Ks alone were sent into the race, of which only car no.15 of the GULF-J.Wyer-Automotive team (drivers: Joe Siffert; Leo Kinnunen; Pedro Rodriguez) reached the finish line, but at least in fourth place overall.
The two latest Porsches from the CARRERA range, on the other hand, failed to finish the real race .....
The beautiful blue 917K with the white stripes of the Porsche/Audi works team with drivers Hans Hermann and Rudi Lins had to retire from the race after just 28 laps due to engine problems. The car is available from CARRERA under the Art.Nr. 23823 for the large DIGITAG 124 scale.
For the fans of the EVOLUTON and DIGITAL 132 there is the other 917K of the Porsche works team for the domestic starting field, the white race car with the blue stripes of Vic Elford and Kurt Ahrens. In the race on the old Hendricks Army Airfield site, this car also retired after 61 laps because it was rammed from behind, damaging the suspension and bodywork.
Who won the race? The FERRARI 512S with starting number 21 and drivers Nino Vaccarella, Ignazio Giunti and Mario Andretti. After Mercario and Andretti were in the lead for almost the entire race in their Ferrari 512S Spyder, starting number 19, and fought fierce duels with the J.WyerPorsche, the car had to pit with gearbox problems and retire. Siffert in the GULF Porsche took over the lead. Half an hour before the end of the race, the Ferrari team manager decided to put the more experienced Mario Andretti in the cockpit of the Ferrari 512S, start number 21 of Giunti and Vaccarella. Andretti then embarked on a daring race to catch up, as the Ferrari was one lap down. Siffert had to pit due to problems with the front wheel hub, which meant that the Porsche 908/02 with the two drivers Peter Revson and Steve McQueen (yes, exactly THE Steve McQueen!!!) was suddenly first. Four laps before the end, Andretti overtook the Porsche 908 and then had to pit briefly for refueling, allowing Revson in the 908 to take the lead again. However, Mario Andretti then overtook Revson in his 908 on the final lap and secured victory for Ferrari in the 5-liter sports car class.

One of the most exciting things about writing a club report is always the research beforehand. Either you concentrate on the car, or you try to find out something about the racing team. Or both.
A lot has already been written about the Ferrari 458 GT 2, and there's not really much to say about the Carreracar either. The 458 is one of the most beautiful in the current range (and this is written by someone who doesn't really like modern Ferraris). The handling of the car from Maranello is excellent, only the somewhat excessive weight sometimes detracts from the driving pleasure.
The research on the team was more exciting in this report.
A.T. Racing? Behind the name is a Belarusian driver duo, father and son, who are based in Mödling, Austria. The racing team is based in Vienna. Alexander Talkanitsa Senior founded the racing team in 2008, before that he raced for the Italian team AF Corse (of which there are already several models from Carrera ), for which he still rides from time to time. AF CORSE is a partner of AT RACING. In 2008, AT was still racing with the Corvette C5R, but now only drives Ferraris. Since 2010, the driver team has been strengthened by son Alexander Junior, who also drives for AF CORSE. And quite successfully, as evidenced by winning the 12-hour race in Mugello in 2014.
There is a really good website about the team, which I can only recommend: http://www.atracing.at/

Somehow I seem to have been lucky lately that I get to write tests for vehicles that I can't find anything about on the internet when I research them. In front of me are the blue Lamborghini Huracan series and the silver Huracan as a safety car. The blue one is a visual dream. The color is wonderful, I have rarely seen such an intense blue on a slot car. I have tons of ideas for the car, but I'm not supposed to write about it.
But about the safety car. The Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 in Siber with flashing lights on the roof and BLANCPAIN clock advertising on the body.
And I just can't find anything about it on the net. At least not any information about the silver!!! Car. There is a video on YouTube showing how a white safety car is parked (who actually records such videos? don't they have anything better to do?). The video is quite good because you can clearly see the car and the flashing light.
Then there's a picture of the white one on the net. But that's it, so unfortunately I can't say much about fidelity to the prototype. The sponsor BLANCPAIN certainly fits the bill ;-)
I personally like the car. It's well known that I'm not a big fan of production sports cars on the racetrack, so I'm always happy when "special vehicles" come out from road cars. The Lamborghini was therefore a good choice, as the "Polizia" was launched back in 2015.
The safety car has the same flashing lights as the police car, is also without a driver's insert and therefore has the black windows, which is due to the circuit board inside the body. The car weighs 102 g, just 1 g more than the normal Huracan. The handling of the Lamborghini is well known, the flounder sticks like Pattex on the racetrack and pulls through the bends as if on rails.
All in all, a really nice vehicle, especially for the younger drivers among the racetrack drivers (my boys like vehicles with flashing lights).

Even if the yellow, white and black CR7 looks a bit like the CR6 brothers "Bad Boys" at first glance, it is a new, fresh design in the 1:32 range. The paintwork is very similar to existing CR7 racing designs, but I was unable to find a photo of a 1:1 model. However, this in no way detracts from the successful visual realization. The vehicle is easily recognizable on the track and cuts a good figure overall in the 1:32 GT environment.
The absolutely clean paintwork and printing look less like a toy and more like a stand model. The smooth running of the wheels is good, no visible or noticeable off-centering. The tires are tightly packed in the wheel arches and make a good impression with their printing and the matching black rims.
The fit and grip of the tires are good. With the CR7 you should be very careful with the sandpaper because of the small thickness of the tread ... in my opinion this is not absolutely necessary.
The assembly and the fit are good, only the body creaks slightly in the area of the doors when touched. There is some play on the left-hand side between the body and the base plate. The rear diffuser and part of the rear are part of the chassis.
In the 1:32 vehicle, there is very little space for trim wipes, only in the area of the door sills and very little in the rear near the engine. The green-yellowish lighting with the additional headlights looks prototypical, but offers rather poor options for night driving ... okay, you can see the vehicle .... And you can also see the tank signals. At approx. 104 grams, the vehicle is no lightweight, but is still fun on the track. Good responsiveness, quiet running characteristics and fairly unproblematic handling speak in favor of the CR7 .... Whether it has a chance of winning is probably up to the driver, as is almost always the case .... ;-)

Miguel Molina has been part of Audi's DTM driver squad since the 2010 season. During this time, the Spaniard has scored a number of accolades, most recently with a victory at the Lausitzring. However, he has yet to emerge as a serious title contender.
His company car shows the sponsorship of the loudspeaker manufacturer "Teufel". Compared to the Petronas-Mercedes that has already appeared and the Post-BMW that is still to come, the design is perhaps not quite as extravagant, but once again a varied addition, in the spirit of good differentiation on the track.
As is so often the case with design variants, it is difficult to report anything new or even surprising about the driving characteristics. Carrera It is well known that vehicles are not lightweights, but the DTM models are all well-balanced designs with good-natured yet sufficiently fast driving performance. The strength of the chassis magnetization is left to personal preference, but if you want to go completely magnetless, you should consider using different tires.

The blue and white Corvettes in 1:24 and 1:32 scale look stylish. The livery is reminiscent of the Corvette's successes in the 12 Hours of Sebring. These Corvette Grand Sport even took first place in its class (GT cars with more than 5-liter displacement ), but in the overall result the Corvette had to settle well behind some smaller, weaker vehicles such as the numerous Porsche 904 GTSs and the Winning vehicle Chaparral 2A.
From 1963, the white-blue or blue-white racing look was the order of the day for the Corvette Stingrays. Carrera also had a blue and white version, which is basically similar to the current Corvette in terms of paintwork in the program in 2010+2011. As I've already written a report on the 1:24 model, I'm going to take a closer look at the 1:32 model.
Both models have absolutely clean paintwork and printing. The paintwork looks real, not toy-like ... like the original Corvettes (unfortunately I only know similar Photos).
The concentricity of the wheels is good, no visible or noticeable off-centering. The front axle of the 1:32 could do with a little oil to improve smooth running. The fit and grip of the Tires are good. With the 1:32 you should be very careful with the sandpaper due to the very carefully ... in my opinion, this is not absolutely necessary.
The assembly and the fit are good, in the 1:32 scale the body creaks in the area of the doors slightly when touched. The rear diffuser and part of the rear are part of the chassis. In the 1:32 vehicle there is very little space for trim wipes, only in the area of the door sills and very little in the rear near the engine. Trimming should be unnecessary on the 1:24 scale
The greenish lighting with the additional headlights looks much brighter on the 1:24 model. The 1:32 looks really good with the light, but it is quite poor for night driving. Above all the auxiliary headlights on the 1:32 get significantly less light than on the 1:24.
Both models are no lightweights (124 = 238 grams, 1:32= 104 grams), but their unproblematic handling characteristics and the fairly good response to the pushers they can be driven quite competitively ... the models enrich the field of drivers in the GT class
all times.
Test report by CoMod Chris on the CarreraDIGITAL 132 Mercedes C-Coupe AMG DTM "Daniel Juncadella"
Art. No. 20030742 http://bit.ly/25jEo5Z Availability: beginning of June 2016
Daniel Juncadella's company car is now the fifth design variant of the Mercedes DTM Coupé. And quite honestly, this version was overdue. Since the takeover of Brawn GP in 2010, the Petronas design has become the hallmark of Mercedes' motorsport activities and can also be found on other vehicles in addition to Formula 1. Juncadella competed in the 2015 DTM season with car number 12, but only finished 20th overall. The DTM fans among the Carreradrivers won't care about that, because it doesn't detract from the beauty of the model. It is another visually varied addition to the DTM fleet.
Technically, there is familiar fare - although the DTM cars are no lightweights, they can be circled around the track quickly and, above all, with good control. Regardless of which magnet configuration you prefer, the vehicle does not have any treacherous surprises or a tendency to tip over.
The only thing missing now is the SLS GT3 in Petronas design.

How do you write a test report about a vehicle that has been on sale for weeks? That has been in the range for almost 10 years and is now available in the umpteenth design variant? Terms such as "perennial favorite" and "classic" should be avoided wherever possible. And this model should actually have been released in 2015; attentive readers of last year's spare parts list found a corresponding entry there that had inadvertently not been removed.
The Lechner Racing Team is based in Salzburg, so the conversion of an operational vehicle for the race track was absolutely obvious. The original vehicle is the successor model (at least I have only found such photos), so this design on the old RSR body is not true to the original. However, this has not been a problem with other 911 GT3 versions, such as the Hybrid in 1:24 scale. So far, every 911 GT3 model has enjoyed stable demand, as well as noticeably rising prices after it disappeared from the official range. This will probably be no different with this variant.
In terms of technology, the original version of the Digital 132 chassis is still used here, recognizable by the magnets that can be removed from the outside and the motor/rear axle unit that can be removed downwards. Personally, I prefer vehicles with the improved chassis generation as it has been produced since 2009, on the other hand, the 911 GT3 RSR has always been attested quite good handling almost everywhere (Car-On-Line, Facebook, online forums) even with the old chassis. So everything is in the green zone.

in 2013, Ferrari presented this super sports car in an edition of 499 units and we have already received several 1:32 models from Carrera . With combustion engine and switchable electric drive, this vehicle has approx. 950 hp and is considered the most powerful 2-seater of the Ferrari brand, even if some borrowings from Formula 1 have been taken over, these have even more power The 1:32 model comes in a silver color reminiscent of aluminum. A rather plain appearance, which certainly fascinates the real customers, but for me the appearance could be made much more attractive with 2 start numbers and some discreet applications by means of decals.
The LaFerrari has a relatively high weight, but can easily run against the Porsche 918 and the Lamborghini Hurracan in a super sports car race. The brake discs and imitation engine are eye-catchers, the entire vehicle has a good visual appearance with filled wheel arches and successful implementation of the 1_1 model.
The profiled tires can still be driven very well, at least with partial magnetization; without magnets, the LaFerrari definitely requires the driver to be at the wheel. Build quality, freewheel of the wheels etc. .... everything is flawless, ready to run.
In 2013, the Handelsblatt headlined "The best of Ferrari, not the most beautiful" ... at least from the LaFerrari series from Carrera I find this aluminum version to be the most beautiful ... tastes are different.

Road sports cars are not necessarily among the most popular vehicles here in the club. Nonetheless, they have been part of the CarreraDNA since the earliest Universal 132 times. The latest design variant of the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 also fits in here.
The metallic blue paintwork, which has a very deep sheen and makes the vehicle a real eye-catcher, is naturally eye-catching. The same applies to the imitation engine and the interior, whereas the driver looks a little less striking.
Without the rear magnet, the vehicle weighs exactly 100 grams. This means that best times are not necessarily to be expected, but the small Lamborghini can be driven around the track in a very balanced manner and without any treacherous surprises. What was striking about the test vehicle was its exceptionally smooth running and relatively quiet, and therefore pleasant, driving noise. In addition to the design variants already released, the LaFerrari can also be considered as a suitable opponent vehicle.
Conclusion: for fans of supercars in general and Lamborghini in particular, the model is certainly worth considering. However, the vast majority will continue to wait for the announced GT3 racing version.

The BMW M1 is a vehicle that polarizes: either you like the wedge shape or you don't. The M1 is one of the last designs in a long line of vehicles by the 3 "wedge designers" Giuseppe "Nuccio" Bertone, Giorgetto Giugiaro and Marcello Gandini.
I know some people who have a special connection to the vehicle, CoMod Mike, for example, told us many years ago that he often passed the Baur bodywork factory where the car was built when he was young. He has been a fan of the vehicle ever since.
The first real racing car from Munich-based M GmbH has also fascinated me since my youth. I had an original factory poster of the BMW super sports car hanging on the wall in my office for over 15 years; the 277 hp sports car is one of my absolute dream cars. 5 or 6 years ago there was a series M1 in the sales hall at the Technorama in Ulm, the price back then was €75,000. Unfortunately not my price range, but it would have been a good buy, today you can't get an M1 for less than €150,000 The Procar versions, which are very rarely offered, start at €750,000.
Many CarreraClub members have requested the car for the 124 range, and we CoMods have also been suggesting the M1 for many years.
Our best argument was actually the reason that was to be the biggest shortcoming for the BMW M1 in reality: as the racing cars originally planned for Group 4 could no longer be used due to rule changes shortly before their appearance, BMW created the Procar series as a supporting program for Formula 1. Here, the five fastest Formula 1 drivers competed in BMW M1 works cars against a maximum of 19 sports car and private drivers of this vehicle type. The M1 was therefore its own racing series. With a correspondingly large number of designs, sponsors, etc. So actually the dream of every racetrack manufacturer ;-)
Of course, the joy was all the greater when the BMW M1 Procar was announced in the 2015 program. So now here is the works racing car with the number 28 in front of me. Driver: Clay Regazzoni, Formula 1 racing driver for Ferrari and legendary team partner of Niki Lauda. incidentally, he drove for Williams in 1979. The BMW factory paintwork is well known: white base color, plus the horizontal stripes in light blue, dark blue and red.
The proportions of the bodywork are well executed and the paintwork matches the prototype. Even the driver's seat makes a very good impression, not easy with this flat body. When I held the car in my hands for the first time, my first thought was: "it needs a long track, it's probably underchallenged on the classic home track". I was all the more surprised by the handling! I knew that a car with such a low center of gravity and such a wide chassis would corner well. But I hadn't thought that the speeding door wedge would pull away so well from the bottom despite the long gear ratio. It may also be due to the weight of just 212 g. The rubber compound of the tires is very soft, which also contributes to the good handling.
Conclusion: a really fun car that is guaranteed to find its way onto the tracks of club members!

The legend lives on ... A test report by CoMod JoergW
The Corvette C7R was launched in 2017 as the successor to the well-known Corvette C6R, which has been in the range at Carrera for some time. A V8 engine with a displacement of 5.5 liters and direct injection is set to shake up the GTE/GTLM class ... will it really succeed?
The appearance of the model is prototypical. The design-related free space in the wheel arch is small and does not detract from the overall appearance. The greenish light from the front slit-eyed headlights is rather poor and certainly only suitable for night racing to a limited extent. Thanks to the new flat LEDs without side shielding, the light from the wheel arches shines more clearly onto the road The chassis has sufficient space for trim weights on both sides. The interior is tidy, the cables are neatly routed.
I think the weight distribution between the chassis (72 g) and body (30 g) is very good, but the total weight could be a few grams lower. The printing and paintwork are flawless ... just as you would expect from Carrera . The front axle turns easily and freely.
The tires have sufficient grip, but due to their low thickness, there is very little room for sanding. However, breaking the edges should still be possible without any problems.
The vehicle readily absorbs power and, when fitted with magnets, has very pleasant and swift driving characteristics; its relatively long wheelbase certainly benefits the vehicle here. The driving performance is on a par with the other GT cars. The yellow racer will easily join the field, whether it will be at the front ... that will depend not least on the person at the wheel.
Digital 132 Item no. 20030731 http://bit.ly/1N6iudE
The success story continues!
Technical data: Weight (complete vehicle with magnets): 103 grams Weight (body): 33 grams Length incl. spoiler: 142 mm Wheelbase: 82 mm Track width (front axle): 58 mm Track width (rear axle): 59 mm Other: no driver insert
Test report: It took a long time until the first 1:32 scale flashing light vehicle was finally available in 2009. Since then, these vehicles have enjoyed great popularity and further vehicles with flashing lights on the roof have been released regularly. The first Porsche 911 Police was even reintroduced to the range this year, and the Lamborghini Huracan in the original livery of the Italian police force is the latest addition to this genre.
Optics: Proportions, color scheme and printing leave nothing to be desired, the car simply looks good from every perspective. As is usual with flashing light vehicles, there is no driver's inlet; instead, the front and side windows are opaque black. However, the rear window is transparent and provides a view of a very attractive imitation engine. The blue light unit on the roof has been given a much more (Italian) chic look than the rather clunky light units of the previous flashing light vehicles.
Technology: The chassis corresponds to the green road version already presented, with the exception of the special flashing light decoder. A rigid front axle and a healthy fighting weight of just over 100 grams guarantee good and safe road holding.
Driving test: The lack of weight of the driver's insert has a positive effect on the driving performance, the Lambo is extremely snappy and fast. Depending on the magnet configuration, the full spectrum is possible, and the vehicle can be tuned as desired to be both a strong-grip ground rocket and a good-natured drifter at the limits. The only unpleasant thing is the soundscape, the body roars audibly when driving.
Conclusion: You don't have to be a prophet to predict that this vehicle will be as successful as its predecessors. The prerequisites are in place.
This version of the AMG SLS is the second D124 vehicle based on a model from the "Erebus Motorsports" racing team. The original car was driven by none other than DTM record champion Bernd Schneider, which alone should make this model a hit with fans and buyers.
The design stands out pleasantly, the combination "black with purple stripes" is rarely found in racing. There is no danger of confusion with any other GT3 vehicle from the Digital 124 range. There are a few details to discover in the driver's insert, where the larger scale can show its strengths.
There is nothing new to report on the technology, the vehicle has been in the range since 2013, I refer here to the older test reports.

The F14T
Writing club reports about Formula 1 cars is not easy. In the end, the report ends up being a list of bombastic engine and performance data. The research is usually boring, er, I mean not very exciting, of course ;-)
This time, however, I came across a report in AUTO MOTOR SPORT from the beginning, which I'm simply posting in full, paragraph by paragraph, because it's just too good. So here is an original quote: "Even before the unveiling of the Ferrari F14 T, there was a lot of talk about the new car. The Italians let the fans vote on the new name. More than a million votes were cast on the racing team's website. In the end, F14T narrowly prevailed over F166 Turbo. However, the new name evokes some funny associations. Some are reminded of the US fighter jet of almost the same name. Some see similarities to the Group's parent company FIAT in the F14T typeface." End of quote!
How can you top an introduction like that? You simply can't do better than that. There's not really that much to say about the car itself. The F14T is the Maranellisti's F1 car for the 2014 season. The car is a completely new design due to the rule changes in the F1 regulations. The Ferrari weighs just under 700 kilos and has a 1.6-liter V6 with around 600 hp (at 15000 rpm). Impressive figures, plus two of the world's best drivers in Fernando Alonso and Kimi Räikkönen. Nevertheless, it didn't achieve anything; Alonso's best result in a race was third place at the Chinese Grand Prix. In the overall standings, it was only enough for fourth place in the constructors' championship.
The model makes a much better impression. The look is right, the model reproduces the characteristic basic shape of the Ferrari F14T very well, the technology is also an old acquaintance. The low weight in combination with the high-revving engine results in considerable acceleration performance and a top speed that can hardly be reached on normal home tracks. It therefore seems sensible to reduce the maximum speed somewhat. This means that the F14T can easily keep up with its direct CARRERA competitor, the Mercedes W105
Exciting races are therefore guaranteed on your home track. Have fun!

Käfertuning…
What can you write about tuned Beetles that hasn't already been written about them for the last 70 years? Difficult... Let's take a different approach.
Pretty much everyone in my age group (40+) had something to do with the Knubbel VW at some point, even if they didn't have one themselves.
Richard, a classmate of mine had an orange 1303 that we nearly torched at a class party. We were all blue, we put out the cable fire with beer (which didn't make the car any better, by the way).
There was a guy in my local pub 25 years ago who started out driving a Beetle in COCA-COLA livery, and he even had Coke pay for the paint job. He drove the car for around 2 years, during which time he built his first "real" Beetle: 2.4-liter engine, lower, louder, Fuchs rims, Porsche parts, etc etc etc. At the time, it was the absolute hit in our area. Incidentally, the guy was an electrical engineer, not a mechanic or anything ;-) And that wasn't his last Beetle, as far as I know he had several of them and he's been working on another one for a while now. Somehow you just can't let go of it.
Today I know that he built and tuned a Type 4 engine back then. There's nothing that doesn't exist for the Beetle. And that hasn't changed to this day: Beetle tuners still exist today, and there are still plenty of customers for the air boxer faction.
Most tuned Beetles are now relatively tame in appearance. At best, they have widened fenders, are lower and considerably louder. What you can still drive on public roads without becoming a permanent customer of the gentlemen with the green-silver cars (outside Bavaria: blue-silver cars) In any case, visually no comparison to the latest model from CARRERA: The RACE 4 !!!
I'm sure the TÜV inspector would have certain problems registering the fender flares a la Porsche 935 (after they revived it...). But the car isn't that unrealistic; in the 70s, some of the cars on the racetracks were pretty badass.
The paintwork of the RACE 4 is definitely contemporary, the Chevy red was quite popular back then, the VW lettering also fits. The color reminds me of the FLYING BUG from Matchbox, which looked similar. The handling of the Beetle is well known, the red racer has a very short track, but due to its width it simply cannot be thrown off the track.
This thing is fun. Right mood!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have fun Your Lotus

CarreraDIGITAL 132 BMW M4 DTM 'M.Wittmann, No23' 2014 and 'J.Hand, No.04' 2014 Test reports from CoMod Carrera 124 and JoergW
Art. No. 20030738 and Art. No. 20030739 In the range: 2015
The success story continues: BMW M4 DTM "Joey Hand"
Technical data: Weight (complete vehicle with magnets): 106 grams Weight (body): 29 grams Length incl. spoiler: 157 mm Wheelbase: 86 mm Track width (front axle): 60 mm Track width (rear axle): 60 mm
Testbericht: The BMW M3 is a racing icon and known worldwide. But even icons are not immune to change. Since the end of 2013, BMW has changed the nomenclature of its vehicle range: The saloons retained their traditional odd-numbered line designations, whereas coupes and convertibles were given even-numbered line designations. The BMW 3 Series Coupe became the BMW 4 Series, and the BMW M3 DTM was transformed into the BMW M4 DTM. Although, as we know, this only affects the outer shell of real DTM cars. In the 2014 season, the American Joey Hand drove the BMW M4 in the "Crowne Plaza" design, a sponsor he had taken over from retired brand colleague Andy Priaulx. However, this was to be his third and final DTM season, and he left BMW at the end of the season with a very meagre haul of points.
Optik: Once again, the DTM cars have been very successfully realized. The bodywork looks harmonious and true to the original proportions. Once again, the selected design does not pose any risk of visual confusion with previously released DTM vehicles, which was not always the case before 2012 (you can read a report by Jörg about Marco Wittmann's 2014 championship car).
Technik: In view of the impressive dimensions, the overall weight is perfectly acceptable. Otherwise, the chassis offers familiar fare, from the decoder to the motor, everything is familiar. The lighting features SMD LEDs.
Fahrtest: I was a little disappointed here, the car is relatively sluggish. So I quickly reprogrammed the speed setting, but without any noticeable improvement. The BMW M4 can't keep up with the pace of the older DTM cars, even though they compete in the same weight class. Series dispersion or coincidence? The Wittmann car was slightly more agile, but also slower overall than the older DTM cars since 2012.
Conclusion: Great looks, unfortunately paired with somewhat disappointing driving performance.
***************************************************************** BMW M4: the 2014 DTM champion is now also available in the 1:32Carreraclass.
With 4 victories, 1 x 2nd place and 3 fastest race laps, Marco Wittmann secured overall victory in the 2014 DTM by a clear margin of 156 to 106 points. BMW is dedicating a special model for private use to Marco Wittmann's victorious car. Matching the starting number, however, only 23 copies ... if they are not already gone ;-)
The model vehicle looks absolutely prototypical. The grooves are closely matched to the wheel arches and thus the extremely flat silhouette of the DMT BMWs is well transferred to the model. Decals and printing are very well executed and match the original as far as possible. Personally, I particularly like the matt black surfaces on the longitudinal axis of the hood, roof and rear.
On the model, the side boxes are mounted to the chassis below the wheel arches. There is little, but sufficient, space left in the chassis for trim weights (the wiring may need to be laid slightly differently). The weight is somewhat high and is distributed between chassis 76 g and body 30 g. The wheels/axles run freely and smoothly. The tires have sufficient grip, regrinding is not necessary - also due to the rather low rubber mass.
The front light shines through a little outside the headlights, it is bright and looks real. The rear light is clearly recognizable, the brake light cannot really be overlooked. The magnets clearly stick, but the vehicle willingly accepts power and accelerates well. The vehicle is fun to drive even when fully equipped with magnets. The vehicle is still very safe and fast to drive with the rear magnet only.
Until then joergW

Review of the CarreraDIGITAL 132 Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 Polizia from CoMod Carrera124
Art. No.: 20030731 In the range: 2015
Technical data: Weight (complete vehicle with magnets): 103 grams Weight (body): 33 grams Length incl. spoiler: 142 mm Wheelbase: 82 mm Track width (front axle): 58 mm Track width (rear axle): 59 mm Other: no driver insert
Testbericht: It took a long time until the first 1:32 scale flashing light vehicle was finally available in 2009.
Optik: Proportions, color scheme and printing leave nothing to be desired, the car simply looks good from every perspective.
Technik: The chassis corresponds to the green road version already presented, with the exception of the special flashing light decoder. A rigid front axle and a healthy fighting weight of just over 100 grams guarantee good and safe road holding.
Fahrtest: The lack of weight of the driver's insert has a positive effect on the driving performance; the Lambo is extremely snappy and fast. Depending on the magnet configuration, the full spectrum is possible, and the vehicle can be tuned as desired to be both a strong-gripping ground rocket and a good-natured drifter at the limits. The only unpleasant thing is the soundscape, the body roars audibly when driving.
Conclusion: You don't have to be a prophet to predict that this vehicle will be as successful as its predecessors. The prerequisites are in place.
