With the Ford Capri Zakspeed Turbo "No. 152" ," 52" you can really put the pedal to the metal on the track. This stylish race car in black, red, and yellow livery was sponsored by a Berlin-based spirits manufacturer and driven by German race car driver Hans Heyer, who crossed the finish line first at the German Racing Championship at the Nürburgring. The large rear spoiler was typical of that racing era and makes the beefy overall design perfect for long-distance racing. Zakspeed is a racing team based in Niederzissen/Eifel that has been active in auto racing since 1968. It was founded by Erich Zakowski. Since the 1990s, his son Peter Zakowski has led the team in international competitions across various racing series.
The inline four-cylinder engine (a Zakspeed development of the BDA engine designed by Cosworth for Ford, based on the 1.3-liter Kent engine) produces 540 hp and has a displacement of 1,740 cc. An aluminum space-frame chassis, front independent suspension with McPherson struts, rear aluminum rigid axle with four trailing arms, gas-charged shock absorbers and titanium coil springs, and ventilated disc brakes front and rear ensure a total weight of just 880 kg (without fuel).
