Racing legend of the 1970s
Three Porsche 917s lined up at the starting grid for a famous 24-hour race in Florida in 1970. The sports car, first unveiled in Geneva in 1969, powered by a twelve-cylinder mid-engine and delivering 520 hp, is one of the most successful race cars of the 1970s. Swiss driver Jo Siffert and Brit Brian Redman from Team J.W. Engineering, driving car No. 1, secured second place in Florida—beaten only by their teammates, who were also competing in Porsche 917s.
