Car No. 2 is another variant of the Corvette Grand Sport hitting the Carreratrack, which competed in the 1964 Sebring 12 Hours.

This is Chassis #003, one of a total of five original Chevrolet GS race cars. Chassis #003 was one of three cars driven by Jim Hall at the 1963 Bahamas Speed Week in Nassau and, a year later, by A.J. Foyt and John Cannon at Sebring. In photos from 1965, Chassis #003 can be seen with a different paint scheme, but it has recently been restored and returned to the condition of the 1964 Sebring version!

So… the good news first ;-)
There’s finally an enlarged steering angle with the new color scheme. The swingarm is marked “Rev.”2 And, as you can see in my photos, the turning angle has increased significantly! CarreraOf course, this is hardly noticeable on the out-of-the-box magnetic track , but on the wooden track without a magnetic wire, the Corvette now takes the curves with real body roll and doesn’t lose traction even if you push it a little too hard!

Visually, there’s almost nothing to complain about... but unfortunately, on my model, the blue tire ring on the front tires wasn’t printed concentrically. There’s also room for improvement in the headlight paint job, specifically the difference in paint finish between the center stripe and the headlights. Here, the body paint isn’t as opaque as that on the headlights! Unfortunately, we’ve seen this on one or two older models as well, and it’s surely due to the different plastics used and their coloring!

Otherwise, the scratch on the roof that you might That's fine by me—it's Carrera not my fault ;-)

All in all, the new swingarm definitely won me over in this quick test... it's a significant improvement!
