Daniel Juncadella’s race car marks the fifth design variant of the Mercedes DTM Coupe to be released. And honestly, this version was long overdue. Since the acquisition of Brawn GP in 2010, the Petronas design has become the hallmark of Mercedes’ motorsport activities, appearing not only in Formula 1 but also on other vehicles. Juncadella competed in the 2015 DTM season with start number 12, but could only finish in 20th place overall. The DTM fans among the Carreradrivers won’t care a bit, because that doesn’t detract from the model’s beauty. It represents another visually diverse addition to the DTM fleet.

Technically, it’s business as usual—even though the DTM cars aren’t exactly lightweights, they can be driven around the track quickly and, above all, with excellent control. No matter which magnet configuration you prefer, the car is free of any nasty surprises or a tendency to tip over.

The only thing missing now is the SLS GT3 in the Petronas livery.

Best regards,
Christian
