The AMG GT3 is the successor to the equally popular and successful SLS GT3. Although it lacks gullwing doors, it is still visually very impressive. Carrera is launching this model in two designs: the 30767 has a rather simple look, in dark gray with a yellow stripe. The 30768, in the version from the 24-hour race in Dubai, features a much more colorful design and is therefore my personal favorite. Once again, the rims with their hinted-at brake discs are very finely detailed, and the same applies to the driver’s helmet.
Technically, everything remains the same as usual; the E200 motor transmits power to the rear wheels via an inline configuration. The magnetic traction can be adjusted to suit your preference, ranging from “very strong” to “medium” to “none at all.” The lighting is implemented all around with SMD LEDs, though some stray light escapes from the wheel wells at the front.
Weighing 108 grams, the car is no lightweight, but it sits very solidly and neutrally on the track. Equipped only with a center magnet, it moves very quickly and without any disruptive magnetic adhesion. I may have gotten a model with a particularly good motor, as the handling and lap times are better than those of recently released GT3 cars with a similar design (Audi R8 LMS and Lamborghini Huracan).
