Fake? Special edition? Neither—it was simply an early release of a 2017 model that made its debut in this special set. And as has already been discussed in the forum, the design doesn’t really match the existing body style, since in the original, Lucas Auer drove the successor model. Nevertheless, the adaptation to the now rather old 2013 body style is very well done, and the black rims contribute to the overall look.
As for the technology and handling, though, I can’t tell you anything new, no matter how hard I try: the headlights cast a slight beam to the sides from the front wheel wells, and the performance is flawless. The model sits firmly on the track and offers balanced handling, just like all the other DTM cars.
