Carrera DIGITAL 132 Audi RS5 DTM Audi Sport Team Phoenix – Timo Scheider
Item No.: 20030779
The vehicle:
For 17 seasons, from 2000 to 2016, Timo Scheider competed in the DTM, driving Audi cars throughout. He even won the championship in 2008 and 2009. This makes him one of the more prominent victims of the cost-cutting measures for the 2017 season, namely the reduction to a total of six cars per manufacturer. The Carrera model allows us to relive his farewell season on a smaller scale.
Visually, the Digital 132 model is rather unassuming—mostly matte black, with a few shades of gray and white spots. However, there's little danger of confusion with previously released models, so the choice of prototype is once again sensible and understandable.
Driving test:
At 105 grams, the model is no lightweight, as is typical for Carrera. However, its roadholding and handling are impressive – there are no hectic tail swings or unexpected stalls. The car is easily controllable at all times, yet still sufficiently fast.
