Brazilian driver Augusto Farfus has been part of the BMW driver lineup since 2007, even before the team entered the DTM as part of the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). His name was soon “Bavarianized,” and he was affectionately called “Gustl” by the team (a friend of mine was a race mechanic on the Schnitzer team back in the WTCC days). Unlike his colleague Andy Priaulx, he adapted well to the switch from the WTCC to the DTM and finished second overall in the 2013 season. Although he’s since only managed to score good results here and there, he nonetheless remains one of the best-known and most established drivers in the DTM paddock.

As is well known, DTM models aren’t lightweight, but they are wide and low-slung. This gives them good, stable handling in every conceivable magnet configuration—and this model is no exception. DTM fans know what to expect, but everyone else shouldn’t be disappointed by the handling either.
