Both designs are already Digital 124 familiar from the product line, and both are typical of the 1980s. The white spiral on a red background was used until the 1990s as the brand logo on blank audio tapes, as well as compact and video cassettes, by the BASF conglomerate, and could thus be found in many households. In 1997, BASF’s data storage division was sold to EMTEC, where the logo is still used today, albeit in a modernized form.
Our colleague Lotus has already Digital 124 covered everything about the company “Pooh Jeans” in his report. This design is relatively well-known among model builders, as the Italian company ESCI released a 1:24 scale static model kit with exactly this decal set in the 1980s. The number of units produced must have been considerable, as this kit is still regularly available on the secondhand market today.
The test drive yielded a pleasant surprise: Digital 132 while my first two versions of this car type were still relatively loud, rattling clunkers, the driving noise is much more pleasant this time around. When driven without the rear magnet, it offers a balanced grip-to-drift ratio. Together with& last year’s Idee Spielspecial edition, there are now a total of five different designs, making it possible to hold a full-scale Procar race on a small scale.
