906 Carrera 6—the namesake and, for me, the epitome of the Carreratrack, and a reminder of the track from my childhood... okay, the Dino still hasn't been released ;-)
After the Carrera 6— Carrerademanded vehemently , not least by fans in the club— Carrera had made its way back into the lineup only to be removed again after some time, I think it’s pretty cool when, every now and then, one or two truly exotic models reappear in the announcements for the following year’s lineup.

The newly released No. Carrera 6, featuring the “Startnummern” TV show, the ZDF logo, and two Mainzelmännchen… “Guuud’n Aaabn’d.”
In 1963, these funny little dwarves first appeared between the commercial breaks—which were still few and far between back then—and starting in 1967—the year this Porsche 906 was in service—they were also shown in color. Yes, there was a time when TV was exclusively in black and white ;-)
In the original, the Porsche 906 had a TV camera on board; personally, I could definitely do without this rather large and not-so-elegant contraption... even though this camera brought the legendary 1967 1,000-km race at the Nürburgring into living rooms across Germany.

For the Go2016 odwood Festival of Speed, the Porsche Museum restored the camera car to its original condition, and it took laps there to the delight of the audience… Typical of the vehicles at the Porsche Museum is their operational readiness and their participation in outstanding show and racing events… the legend lives on and keeps driving.

The handling characteristics of Carrera the 6 model are well known... not a winner in the Carrera “Classic” series, but a Carrerarace featuring only 6s is very appealing from a driving perspective and, visually, a highlight in any case. Maybe a Corvette Grand Sport or a Cheetah will find its way onto the track and bring some fresh energy... things are happening.

The model—aside from the camera—is faithfully reproduced and has no manufacturing defects.
During my research Carrera z.B. , I . found a few variants that haven’t been released yet (. simply in orange or dark green), and I’d be thrilled to see them come out. I like the colors—which are easily recognizable on the racetrack—as well as their understated elegance. May the Carrera-6-Story continue for some time to come.
