The CARBON Corvette
was founded back in 1979 by Reeves Callaway. If you’re not familiar with Callaway, I recommend visiting the website of the guys from Connecticut ( www.callawaycars.com ) and then Googling the corresponding vehicles. Some of them are absolute beasts.
Callaway has made a name for itself in the U.S. primarily as a Corvette tuner.
The
By the way, there is also a German CALLAWAY team: the Callaway Competition racing team in Leingarten, near Heilbronn, in Baden-Württemberg.
“Our Corvette GT3 is one of a kind, just like every single one of your products.”
This is one of the slogans the Swabian racing team uses to promote itself on its website. The team led by GF Ernst Wöhr races only one make of car: the Chevrolet Corvette (logically…). This is echoed by a statement from Callaway founder Reeves C: “We’re competing here in Germany with the only true race car from the USA.” Callaway Germany is the longest-serving team in the ADAC GT Masters and has already won the drivers’ and team championships twice.
Incidentally, the German company also manufactures custom-made carbon-fiber body components for the racing sector on a contract basis. As a result, the majority of the bodywork on the current Corvette C7 GT3/R is made entirely of carbon fiber.
