company Apple, now known worldwide, was founded in 1976 in a California garage. The path to its current success wasn’t always straightforward, but by 1980, the company was definitely on the rise. Back then, a computer was still an exotic device for nerds and, increasingly, for gamers, but it was far from being a common household item. With the Apple II, they had a powerful workhorse; competitors like the Commodore 64—which is very well known in this country—didn’t enter the market as rivals until later.
According to legend, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs was a big fan of the German design school and drove u.a. a Porsche 356 in his private life . . When his car needed repairs, he came into contact with race car driver Bob Garretson and the Dick Barbour Racing Team, which was based very close to Cupertino.
As a result of this partnership, it was decided that Apple would serve as the main sponsor for one of the team’s race cars.

No sooner said than done: The logo—which was still very colorful at the time—covered the white body, resulting in an extremely striking design that is still recognizable today. The car itself, however, competed in only a few races with this livery; in later years, at least one replica was produced. The

Carrera company has chosen the version from the 1980 Sebring 12-Hour Race as the model for the latest version of the 1:32 scale model. This version differsz.B . from the one released many years ago as a slot car by a Spanish competitor in terms of the starting number and a few other details ( . the lettering on the rear wheel arches). The most obvious difference is the color of the rear rims.

Technically, everything remains the same; the model is available in both analog and digital versions and is powered, as always, by the standard E200 motor. Handling can be adjusted to suit your preferences using the two chassis magnets. Overall, the car is one of the more nimble and easy-to-control models.
