" In the 1970s, it was Carrera common practice to apply the same design to certain vehicles in multiple or all scales. This applies, for example, to the Porsche 911 RSR (Wrangler/orange/silver), the Porsche 936 (Jägermeister/white), and the VW Go lf. In more recent times, this approach was initially abandoned to some extent, but in recent years this tradition has been revived. And why not? A design that is popular and/or was successful at one scale will certainly not look any worse at another scale. Thus, the BMW M1 “1000 km Nürburgring 1980” is now also available in 1:32 scale, having been available as a 1:24 scale model since 2018. As a result, some of the lettering along the route is naturally very small, but this does not detract from the overall excellent visual impression.
In terms of handling, the model fits right in with the M1 models released so far—nimble and easy to control, but always with a distinctive sound. In any case, it’s a great addition to the lineup.
