2018 DTM season was the last to be contested with the classic Class 1 cars and naturally aspirated engines. Mercedes provided the race cars with several unique designs for that season, and Carrera this time, the presentation version was chosen. Austrian driver Lucas Auer was then set to use this design—with minor modifications—as his standard livery.
It’s a splash of color unlike anything seen before on the racetrack. There’s absolutely no risk of confusion.
In terms of technology and handling, there are no surprises. In 1:32 scale, the DTM cars are among those with the best road holding. Accordingly, the conditions are ideal for achieving top times.
In 1:24, the diversity of the DTM starting grid has now grown to 17 different cars (including the Audis), ensuring that the races there are always exciting.
Even though the Class 1 cars have since been retired in the real-life DTM, we can only hope that the Carrera developers make the most of the existing models and delay the farewell for fans of these cars as long as possible.
