It happened in 1966 at the world’s most famous race in northwestern France: The light blue Ford GT 40 was set to cross the finish line first, defeating its archrival Ferrari. Shortly after the Fords with start numbers 1 and 2 crossed the finish line and the race was declared over, confusion reigned. Four drivers believed they had won the race. However, because it had covered a greater distance, the No. 2 GT 40 was declared the winner, even though the No. 1 car had been in the lead. It was the closest finish in the history of this race.The Ford GT 40 was redesigned specifically for the 1966 season—the 4.7-liter engine was replaced with a larger, more powerful 7.0-liter engine to win the race.

A code is printed on the gift certificate. When redeeming the gift certificate, enter the code in the first step of the shopping cart so that the gift certificate can be applied to your order. The amount will then be deducted from the purchase total immediately. If the value of your gift certificate exceeds the order total, you can redeem the remaining balance at any time later using the same gift certificate code.
