Here are the pictures and the test report of the new Carrera DIGITAL 132 Audi R18 e-tron Quattro No.1, 2012 (Art. No. 30637) by CoMod Mike & Jörg
The R18 e-tron quattro is a hybrid variant of the R18 ultra, based on the R18 ultra, with approximately 470 kW. Audi achieved a one-two-three victory at the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the first two places being taken by the two competing Audi R18 e-tron quattro cars. This was the first time a hybrid vehicle had won this race, and it repeated this success the following year. Were it not for 2009, when a Peugeot 98 HDi topped the podium... well, since 2000, the Volkswagen family has achieved 12 overall victories... after all, the Audi was once called Bentley ;-)
Optics:
The printing and painting are flawless. The decals/prints are
Clean and crisp execution. The black rear section shines a bit too brightly for my taste. The otherwise problematic silver looks very authentic this time, not toy-like.
The execution is very detailed, all sponsor stickers etc. are true to the original
The roof antennas are somewhat sturdier than the original, but thinner ones would mean a greater risk of breakage.
Technology:
The vehicle mainly offers the well-known and now completely problem-free
Components (good grip tires, straight axles, etc.), but there is something new.
The front and rear lighting is made of SMD LEDs in a flat, square design
The light is much brighter, the brake is clearly visible … for modern
Vehicles 1a.
Because of the small engine, the chassis still offers enough space for a little lead... or something less harmful ;-)
Mileage:
Wide, flat, long = good. That's how you can describe the R18. Thanks to the
The high-revving engine and the good grip tires make driving quite easy.
A very successful continuation of the LeMans series… even if it requires some adjustments to let the vehicles of the different Carrera evolutionary stages compete against each other.
Best regards,
JörgW
