Lately, I’ve been lucky enough to write reviews for cars that I can’t find any information about online when I’m doing my research. In front of me are the blue Lamborghini Huracán Series and the silver Huracán Safety Car. The blue one is a visual dream. The color is wonderful; I’ve rarely seen such an intense blue on a slot car. I have tons of ideas for that car—but I’m not supposed to write about it.
Instead, I’m writing about the Safety Car. The silver Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 with a flashing light on the roof and Blancpain watch advertising on the body—
and I simply can’t find anything about it online. At least, not a single piece of information about the silver car!!! There’s a video on YouTube showing a white safety car being parked (who actually records videos like that? Don’t these people have anything better to do?). The video is pretty good in that you can clearly see the car and the turn signal.
There’s also a picture of the white one online. But that’s about it, so unfortunately I can’t say much about how faithful the model is to the real thing. The sponsor, BLANCPAIN, is definitely a good fit. ;-)
Personally, I really like the car. It’s no secret that I’m not a big fan of production sports cars on the racetrack, so I’m always happy when “special edition” versions of road cars are released. From that perspective, the Lamborghini was a good choice—the “Polizia” was already released back in 2015.
The safety car has the same flashing light as a police car, is also driverless, and therefore has black windows—which, as is well known, is due to the circuit board inside the body. The car weighs 102 g, just 1 g more than the standard Huracán. The Lamborghini’s handling is legendary—it sticks to the track like Glue-On and cuts through the corners as if on rails.
All in all, a truly beautiful car, especially for the younger drivers among us (my boys love cars with flashing lights).
Best
