Pooh …

What at first sounds like a sigh or the name of a honey-licking bear is actually the main sponsor of the new 1:24-scale BMW M1; the original was driven by Marc Surer at the Norisring in 1980.
Okay, POOH is a jeans brand, as you can see from the flawless printing on the model. But even though that fits my age group, I’ve never heard of a jeans brand called POOH… so my curiosity was piqued and I searched the internet.

Even after a lengthy search, I could only find Disney-style clothing; the POOH jeans brand doesn’t seem to have made it from the ’80s to the internet… maybe one of you might find something about the company (I’d just be curious to know).

The vehicle’s design, with its light blue and white color blocks and yellow zipper, looks great and fits the car well in terms of proportions and layout. Everything on the model is faithfully reproduced and executed flawlessly. I particularly like MARC, the understated driver figure. All in all, it’s a great addition to the series—easily recognizable and distinguishable on the track.
As a 1:24 scale model, the BMW M1 has no technical flaws, defects, or other issues. That it’s fun to drive is well known from our reports and our own experiences—unfortunately, due to the translation, only in a pure BMW M1 series. But that gives us hope for many more models in the coming years.

Perhaps the next version should be the BMW M1 driven by Christian Danner, Manfred Schurti, and Manfred Winkelhock in 1980…. It features a H.I.S. That ad—the jeans brand rings a bell ;-)
