Carreralivery. Normally, I'm not really a big fan of police, fire department, or other fantasy vehicles.... but this one has something special... the longer I look at it and play around with it
, the more I like it.
There isn’t much to say about the actual base vehicle, the Audi R8 LMS; it’s been on the market for years and is a popular choice in Carrera124-class GT races Carrera. Whether as a pace car, chaos car, or simply in the middle of the race grid, the new Police R8 enriches the existing vehicle selection in the GT class.

The basic color scheme of neon yellow and dark blue with white design elements looks great and is therefore easily recognizable on the track. The paint job is generally very well done; however, on a few small edges—likely due to manufacturing processes—a very faint greenish sheen is visible under certain lighting conditions—just blue and yellow.

The axles run smoothly and have sufficient play. The front axle turns very easily and has a long after-rotation. The drive axle has sufficient play; the vehicle accelerates quickly and runs quite quietly. The tires have good traction and fit snugly on the rims. The black-painted rims complement the overall design.
The best part, however, is that this model does away with the tinted windows typically found on vehicles with special signals. The extra effort put into the hidden wiring for the blue light unit is rewarded with a suitably designed driver, along with an interior featuring a roll cage and fire extinguisher—what you wish for long enough and with enough conviction will eventually come true ;-)—keep it up.

The blue light can be activated—as usual—using the front button on the controller (all off, light, light + blue light, blue light only). I’ve opted out of sound Carrera—to be honest, I hope it stays that way, because any additional noise on the track wouldn’t really be appropriate in 1/124 scale.
Just my two cents.

See you later,
