Since 2009, the team led by racing legend Bobby Rahal has been competing in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) with two BMW M3 GT2s.

The sister car with start number 92 has been Carrera racing on tracks around the world for some time now , and now the car with start number 90 is also hitting the track.

As is often the case with cars from the same racing team, the paint schemes of the two cars differ only slightly. The most noticeable distinguishing features are the differently colored rear spoiler and the absence of the red-purple-blue stripes on the front fendersgeln.Technisch ; unsurprisingly, both design variants are technically identical. For the analog car, this translates to a total weight of pretty much exactly 100 grams, which means the BMW isn’t exactly a lightweight, but it’s not necessarily overweight either. The front wheels are independently suspended. I’m not a fan of this design, but it works quite well here. I always remove the rear magnet; the center magnet remains installed as is. With this setup, the BMW handles quite nimbly while remaining easy to drive. The lap times it can achieve are even better than those of, say, an Audi R8 LMS. However, the front independent suspension does produce a somewhat “clunking” driving noise.

In a direct comparison, cars with a front solid axle are noticeably quieter on the road. If that doesn’t bother you, the BMW M3 GT2 is a car that’s both fast and easy to handle.
