Pictures of the Carrera DIGITAL 124 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 Team Black Falcon - 24 Hours of Dubai 2012 (Item No. 23790) by CoMod Mike...
The Star of Dubai
: Team Abu Dhabi by Black Falcon, with drivers Khaled Al Qubaisi, Jeroen Bleekemolen, Sean Edwards, and Thomas Jäger, won the seventh edition of the Dubai 24-Hour Race, convincingly beating out the strong competition. With a new distance record of 628 laps (3,385 km), Black Falcon also secured the first 24-hour victory for the Mercedes SLS AMG GT 3, just one year after its 24-hour debut in the Dubai desert. Now, the second color variant of the SLS Black Falcon has also been tested. We’re already familiar with this variant from the 132 lineup.
Here, too, the look appears absolutely spot-on when compared to images online. Personally, I really like the LARGE No. 3 is quite a bit better than the Dubai version.
The SLS looks great on the track—and not just when it’s stationary; the many color details— z.B. the air vents, the hood, and the front flaps (white on top, black on the bottom)—are truly remarkable. As expected, the rest of the graphics were also applied flawlessly to the body.
The SLS features the latest, well-refined technology—which we’re already very familiar with—so there’s nothing new to report here.
As with the “Star of Dubai,” the rear spoiler was removed for the test laps, and the SLS impresses with its balanced, precise, and comfortable handling.
However, you get the feeling that it’s quite a bit livelier, which is then confirmed when looking at the race lap times. Unfortunately, you can also feel the weight of this beast here.
Conclusion—the second great version of the SLS that adds variety to the GT starting grid.
