the blue, white, and red Ford GT is also available in 1:24 scale. I’ve already shared my thoughts on the real car in the 1:32 review, so I don’t want to bore you by repeating myself here. Visually, the 1:24 scale model really makes an impression. The minimal space in the wheel wells, the slightly raised front lip, and the rear diffuser, combined with the body and paint scheme, give the car a sleek and aggressively sporty silhouette. The proportions seem to be well preserved compared to the real car.
The incorrect German flag next to the driver’s name (black-yellow-red instead of black-red-yellow) … hmm, I’ve now clicked through dozens of original photos… on car No. 66, you can see the German flag in the correct color sequence… unfortunately, the photos of No. 68 don’t provide any clear evidence… no big deal, just a side note.
Unfortunately, the model car is quite heavy, weighing about 253 grams. Its handling characteristics—which are rather smooth and uncomplicated due to its length and wheelbase—make it difficult to achieve fast lap times, especially on small tracks. Larger tracks with long combinations of curves should benefit, since the Ford handles curves well… it’s just the transitions and acceleration on the straights… a little fine-tuning could help.
