Art.Nr. 31046
The latest FORD Capri RS3100 from CARRERA with item no. 31046 comes in the classic flower power design of the seventies. The best-known vehicle with this type of paintwork is probably the legendary Porsche 917, but other manufacturers have also adapted this design for their racing cars. The Capri, for example, is not only available in the dark green-light green paint finish as on this model, but also in blue-red.
FORD has a completely different status in the United Kingdom than here in Germany. What VW is in Germany, FORD is on the island. From the Anglo-Saxons, classic car owners with an affinity for FORD can get every spare part, every tuning part & accessory, even complete bodyshells if you like, to rebuild their racing classics. One example of this is the company "Ric Wood Motorsport", which can completely rebuild an RS3100 for racing on request (if you have the necessary small change... a lot of small change). There are a few impressions of the vehicle on this page.
This model can be found on their site, just like the red and blue Ford mentioned earlier. The CARRERA model is therefore based on a real vehicle.
I was able to experience just how popular the first-generation Capri is here in the spring of this year: At the parts market of my own classic car club (100 members), there were 2 brand-new Capri 1s: one with a normal body and 3-liter Essex V6, another in wide body with a 2.9-liter Cosworth V6 from the Ford Scorpio. The two owners were both around 25 years old. Her dad came along in a 55-year-old Transit... ????
CAPRI rules!
