Our Mission

How do we want to bring sustainability to life?

Based on legal requirements—and even going beyond them—we have defined clear and measurable key performance indicators (KPIs) that we review regularly to ensure we are making progress toward our sustainability goals. These KPIs drive us forward and enable us to track and adjust our progress.

What makes us who we are?

Most of our products are not only durable but are also designed to be collectibles, which increases their longevity and value—many products remain in households for a lifetime or are passed down from generation to generation.

Our Strategy for Achieving Our ESG Goals

Company Policy

Carrera Revell is proud to be a member of the German Toy Industry Association (DVSI). This involvement demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards and quality in the toy industry.

Our supplier relationships are largely based on long-standing partnerships. Payment mechanisms are clearly defined, and in some cases, suppliers receive advance funding. A binding Code of Conduct governs our collaboration with suppliers and ensures that ethical and fair practices are followed. We implement ESG KPIs by adhering to the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) in accordance with the ESRS (European Single Reporting System) and preparing our reports in line with the taxonomy guidelines. In addition, we are working on reports and sustainability reports.

Comprehensive compliance guidelines are in place at our main locations, which every employee must sign. These rules ensure that our business is conducted in accordance with legal and ethical standards. We are currently working to standardize and implement these compliance rules across the entire corporate group.

We provide our employees with a dedicated whistleblower email address. This allows them to report concerns or misconduct anonymously, thereby contributing to the transparency and integrity of our corporate governance.

Sustainable Consumption and Production

Customer and Repair Service

Carrera Revell offers its customers a comprehensive repair service to ensure that products have a long service life and that customers can continue to enjoy them for years to come. Our goal is to provide efficient customer service that meets our customers’ needs. To this end, we continuously optimize our processes to ensure fast and reliable repair service.

The positive impacts of our repair services are manifold. For one thing, we enable our customers to repair and continue using their products instead of throwing them away and buying new ones. In doing so, we make an important contribution to reducing waste and conserving resources. Furthermore, we promote sustainable consumption by prioritizing the durability and repairability of our products.

Our repair services also help strengthen our customers’ trust in our brand, as they can count on us to continue supporting them even after their purchase. Overall, our repair services are an important part of our sustainability strategy and an example of how we can make a positive contribution to the environment through innovative solutions.

Packaging

Carrera Revell has set an ambitious goal to revolutionize the packaging of its products and make it more environmentally friendly.

Carrera Revell products are already Carreraavailable in open packaging without plastic windows. The amount of plastic in the outer packaging has been significantly reduced or eliminated entirely. Where possible, poly bags are being replaced with paper bags or reduced to a minimum. In addition, the use of Styrofoam and polyfoam has been largely phased out in favor of cardboard and paper trays made from recycled materials. Overall, the packaging has been made smaller, and PVC is no longer used.

This change has several positive effects. For one thing, it significantly reduces our consumption of raw materials and helps protect the environment. By using sustainable materials, we also reduce the environmental impact of our entire product life cycle, from manufacturing to disposal.

By reducing the size of our packaging, we also minimize the volume required for transportation and storage. This has a positive impact on the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The switch to sustainable packaging materials and the reduction in the size of our packaging are important steps on our path toward more environmentally friendly and sustainable product design. CarreraRevell is committed to pursuing these goals with determination and dedication in order to make a positive contribution to the preservation of our environment.

Durable Products

Carrera Revell products Carreraare already known for their remarkable durability. Our goal is to continue offering products that meet this high standard and exceed our customers’ expectations.

The durability of our products has a positive impact on the environment, as it helps reduce waste. By using high-quality materials and sturdy designs, our products can be used for long periods of time without losing any of their quality or performance. This reduces the need to replace products frequently and thus minimizes the waste that ends up in landfills or needs to be recycled.

Our commitment to durability is a central component of our sustainability strategy and a testament to our dedication to offering products that not only meet our customers' needs but also make a positive contribution to preserving our environment.

Climate Change

Adaptation to Climate Change

Adapting to the challenges of climate change is crucial for companies, as it has far-reaching implications for a wide range of business areas. On the one hand, consumer behavior is shifting toward a greater focus on sustainable products. Consumers are increasingly preferring environmentally friendly and socially responsible offerings. Companies that recognize and act on these trends early on have a clear advantage.

At the same time,

climate change is leading to significant fluctuations in the prices of raw materials and services. Climate-related events such as droughts, storms, or floods can disrupt production and significantly increase the cost of raw materials. Transportation is also repeatedly disrupted by natural disasters, which can lead to supply bottlenecks and higher transportation costs.

Overall, it is essential for companies like ours to proactively adapt to the challenges of climate change—which is why we plan to implement various measures in the future.

Climate Protection

To actively promote climate protection and adapt to climate change, we will be implementing a number of changes in the future. Our products, which have largely been made of plastic and manufactured in the Far East, will increasingly be produced using alternative, sustainable raw materials. This will allow us to reduce our use of petroleum-based materials and decrease our dependence on non-renewable resources.

We will also be breaking new ground in the area of transportation. While shipping to Europe will remain our preferred mode of transport, we will increasingly rely on lower-emission modes and methods of transport to minimize our environmental footprint. This could include the use of more energy-efficient ships or alternative energy sources. At the same time, we are developing alternative marketing and distribution strategies to optimize supply chains and reduce associated emissions.

We manufacture at various locations. In addition to China, we have deliberately established production sites in Europe and the U.S. near our distribution centers in order to reduce transportation and the associated CO2 emissions.

Another key focus is on conserving resources. We will implement measures to reduce energy and water consumption and use existing raw materials more efficiently. This includes optimizing production processes as well as promoting recycling and the circular economy.

To assess and manage our efforts, we calculate comprehensive carbon footprints (CCF) for all locations, including relevant Scope 3 emissions. This enables us to identify and implement targeted measures to reduce emissions. Through these comprehensive adjustments and our focus on sustainable practices, we are actively contributing to climate protection while ensuring the long-term viability of our company.

Energy

Although the companies of the Carrere Revell Group do not operate any manufacturing facilities themselves, we are aware that our suppliers use energy-intensive production processes. For this reason, we are actively addressing the issue of energy consumption and are currently exploring the transition to green electricity and alternative energy sources throughout our supply chain. Through these measures, we aim to contribute to reducing our carbon footprint and improving the sustainability of our entire value chain. The use of renewable energy and the promotion of energy-efficient technologies are at the heart of our efforts to minimize our environmental impact and promote more eco-friendly production methods in the long term.
