Gary Paffett, winner of the 2018 DTM, will drive to the star line in his Mercedes AMG C63 DTM "G.Paffett, No.2" in silver and blue design. The body of the C-Coupé is modelled on the coupé version of the Mercedes-Benz 204 model series. The prototype is designed with a monocoque made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) with an integrated 120-liter fuel tank and steel roll cage. The racing car is powered by a naturally aspirated V8 engine with a displacement of four litres, an output of around 368 kW (500 hp) at 7500 rpm and a maximum torque of 500 Nm. The manual transmission with six forward gears, which is the same for all DTM cars, is located together with the differential at the rear (transaxle design) on the driven rear axle. All wheels are individually suspended on double wishbones. The braking system with carbon-fibre-reinforced brake discs is the same for all DTM participants.
