1970s racing legend
In 1970, there were three Porsche 917s in action at the famous 24-hour race in Florida. The sportscar was unveiled in Geneva in 1969, fired by a 12-litre mid-engine for a power output of 520 hp, and was one of the most successful racing cars of the 70s. The Swiss driver Jo Siffert and Brit Brian Redman of the J.W. Engineering team drove the no.1 car to second place in Florida, beaten only by their team rivals - who also drove a Porsche 917.
