In 1980, the legendary 1000 km race took place at the Nürburgring, where the BMW M1 Procar with the number 201 took to the starting grid. Drivers Hans Stuck and Nelson Piquet pushed the car to its absolute limits. What makes this race car special, aside from its top speed, is its unique design. It depicts the Nürburgring circuit, which was dubbed the “Green Hell” by former British Formula 1 driver Sir John Young Jackie Stewart and has retained that name to this day.
