Model description:
As can be seen from the item numbers, the decision to release the large-scale Audi RS5 DTM was likely made at the same time as the Mercedes C63 DTM, which was released in 2017. However, when it came to the design selection, they opted against experimentation. On the one hand, the choice fell on Rene Rast’s championship-winning car; on the other, on the classic “Red Bull” design driven by Mattias Ekström. And instead of many words, just let Mike’s pictures speak for themselves.
From a technical standpoint, there’s relatively little to report; the suspension is virtually indistinguishable from that of the Mercedes C63 DTM. Compared to the Mercedes, the Audi weighs 3 grams more and is also a tiny bit longer. In practice, however

, neither factor makes much of a difference.

Test drive:
As usual, I remove all magnets; after a brief warm-up period, the stock tires provide sufficient grip even for this driving mode. The handling is practically identical to that of the Mercedes C63 DTM—it’s a close match. Hectic load-change reactions or sudden spins are completely foreign to this model, and the average lap times also match what the Mercedes achieves on the track. All in all, these are ideal conditions for a balanced competition.
